I am trying to understand how the data in sql server is stored and
also regarding fill factor and page splitting.
1) My first question what is the difference between Index pages and
Data pages.
and how are they different for clustered and non clustered indexes and
heap tables.
2) What is the relation between index and data pages.

Hi,
The following URL a has a video entitled "Interacting With Web Sites in
Code." The video explains exactly what I am trying to do which is to
directly communicate with a website and programmatically post data to a web
page and examine the response. Can anyone direct me to where I might find
the code used in the video?

Hi,
I need to download some web pages from a web server (most of them are
not static html, but .asp pages).
The content (I.e. the pure html) in the pages are not changed very
often, so I'll looking for a way not to download that pages, which have
not been changed since last download.
Can someone point me an starting point in that direction? Any examples,
etc.
Thanks

I have a system that was originally developed in asp - the pages are saved in
SQL (there are over 10,000 pages) and saved to a temp directory in the server
when requested by a client.
I have updated this system and changed the pages that are saved to the
server as aspx - everything works fine and pages can be served - but
Its not impossible for a single client to request 100 plus pages in one
session - as each page is requested it is...

1. What are some compelling solutions for using Master/Content pages with
Web Pages?
2. If a content area has a web part zone with web parts, what is the user
experience like when "editting" the web part page? Does it take place at
the page level? ...or the content area level?
3. Where is the Web Part Manager instantiated? ...in the Master Page?
....Content Page? ...elsewhere?

Again another simple concept that appears NOT to be intuitive or I'm just
stupid. I've read the WROX book and the example doesn't actually show how
the .master page links in the other content pages? Kinda sorta a critical
point no?
Am I missing something?
Rob.
P.S. the day I find a book that actually is useful rather than just a

Hey all,
So far my reading is proving to be very interesting and good. This
book is very helpful, and I'm generally left with quite a few questions
about how I'm going to do stuff with my current setup. Basically
speaking, all my stuff is currently in PHP. I need the ability for
being able to interact with PHP quite a bit. My largest question right
now, is say that I want to provide some information from my PHP form to
the asp one...

Hi,
I am writing an mp3 player using wpf, I have three user controls (media
library, media controls and a playlist). Obviously I need these to
interact with each other, I assume the best way to do this is to use
events right ?.
Can I raise an event on one user control and have one of the others
suscribe to it ? or do I need to have the main window suscribe to it and
then pass the message on to the target user control ?.

I am working with Visual Studio or alternately with Expression Web. I need
to create about 50 aspx pages with about 1200 thumbnali images, typically
arranged in three to four groups per page, having hyperlinks to the
corresponding full size images.
Can anybody point me to locations in MSDN or elsewhere giving the references
to attach, the commands & objects for creating or opening the pages and
possibly available classes?
I have done...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
