Hi,
I've used the Application_Sta rt() to load some codes onto the Web Server.
However, I need to reboot my machine every time if I've added some codes to
the database, and for it to load up to the Web server.
In VS.NET 2003, I can simple remove the compiled files fin /bin then the
Application_Sta rt() will execute. Is there a way for me to force the
Application_Sta rt() to run in VS.NET 2005?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You could update the timestamp on your web.config or run iisreset.exe

Open web.config in any text editor (i.e. notepad) do not change anything,
save it. Done.
Hope this helps

I need an Application object replacement. I was creating my own using
shared memory -- shm* API in PHP. I was doing fine for 6 months until
it just got too fat, I guess, and the RH9 Linux server just started
"losing its memory". I don't know -- perhaps I'm doing something
wrong, perhaps it's my code, or perhaps there's a limitation on what
I'm trying to do here. It's too many lines of code to debug right now.
I'm searching for...

In the Application_OnStart, I make some data calls and place the
results in the HTTP cache. Sometimes, the database is not available
when the application starts up, so I want to sleep for 20 seconds and
then restart the entire application.
What is the best way to do that?
Thanks.

I would like to know if there is a programatic way to force the
Application object to restart. I have a hosted website where I will be
unable to control the webserver (eg:iisreset), and I would like to be
able to trap certain events and cause the entire application to reload.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I've got an ASP.NET 2.0 application, and I would like to catch the scenario
of when I get a certain number of application errors, I want to restart the
application (similar to 'touching' web.config).
However, I don't have access to IIS, nor can I FTP in a new web.config file
to force the application to restart.I can't see any way at the moment to do
this through code, which would be good, as I can then restart it remotely
(through...

Hi All,
I know that if you modify the web.config file or any file in the App_Code
subfolder, that ASP.net 2.0 will "restart" the application (i.e. clear out
any sessions, etc...).
Are there any other changes that restart the application? Will modify a
code-behind .cs/.vb which calls a class in the App_Code folder restart the
application?

Ok, we are all aware of the situation where modifying the folder
structure (adding files, folders, deleting files, etc) will result in
ASP.NET triggering a recompilation/restart of the application.
In a nutshell, I understand how this can be considered desireable by
some, but I am not one of those people.
My situation is that we have a root site (hosted @ http://www.mydomain.com)
in the root application folder '/'.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
