I am using the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver to link three relatively small MySQL
tables to a Microsoft Access 2003 database. I am finding that the data from
the MySQL tables takes a hell of a long time to load making any kind linkage
with my Access data virtually useless.
I have the MySQL driver setup in as a USER DSN. The MySQL data is...

Are there any ways to speed up a Cumulative sum in a query or perhaps
another faster way to have a cumulative sum column (call a vba
function?).
For example, I want to sum up all values under 'Amount', and also have
a field call 'Cumulative' and have the sum grow with each record. Using
"MyTable", the query results are...

Okay, here is what's happening:
I have a reasonably fast laptop (1.4 GHz Mobile M, so comparable to 2.5GHz
P4) doing .net development.
Running Windows XP pro, SP2
IIS is installed and running fine
All SQL Servers I am referring to share a small (10 computers or so) LAN
with a 100MB Switch.
No other computers on the LAN exhibit this...

final is the production box that only has IIS. I develop on my own
machine, copy to the first testing server, the code is tested,...

Running a solution with about 20 sub-projects total about 150.000 lines of
code.
Typing code is slow (delay when typing fast).
Pressing next line while debugging is slow.
Pressing Ctrl-F for quick find is rediculous slow.
Everything is slow.
Running Exe is fine though
This is on a HP Workstation machine with Xeon 3GHz (HT Enabled) with...

Hi,
I am trying to write an ASP.NET web app, in Visual Basic.NET, using
Visual Studio.NET 2004, .NET framework 1.1.4322 SP1
Running the project/app on localhost while in dev/write/debug stage
When I say "trying", I do have it written, and it works ... sort of,

Hi all,
So I bought a new laptop 10 days ago to test my apps with Vista. (home premium)
Apparently Office 2007 is pre-installed. (a time limited but complete test version, no SP1)
So I take the opportunity to test some new features of Access2007 before actually 'stepping over'.
First thing that troubles me of course is 'the ribbon', but my...

The problem is in the form drawing and painting, when first shown the form...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
