Hello,
I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I
am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates
multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When
the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file,
populate it, and then export it to a PDF.
It works fine so far....

Hi -
i was just going through this thread: http://mail.python.org/
pipermail/python-list/2006-April/336948.html , where it is suggested
that the Lock instance used by Queue.Queue should be publically
configurable. I have identified another situation where a Queue can
be deadlocked, one which is also alleviated by configuring the type
of Lock used by the Queue (or just changing it to an RLock).
The scenario arises when the Queue is...

Hello everyone
i'm working on :
"
Familiar childhood games such as hide and Go Seek and Tag involve determining the player who is to be "It". One method has the players stand in a circle while one of the players recites some rhyme to count off players, eliminating every nth player, where n depends on the number of the syllables in the counting rhyme. This process stops when only one player, the one to be "It" remains.
This process...

I have a script which is based on the following code. Unfortunately,
it only works on Python 2.3 and not 2.5 because there is no esema or
fsema attribute in the 2.5 Queue. I am hunting through the Queue.py
code now to try to figure out how to make it work in 2.5, but as I am
a beginner, I am having difficulty and would appreciate your help.
Many thanks

I'd like to suggest adding a new operation
Queue.finish()
This puts a special sentinel object on the queue. The sentinel
travels through the queue like any other object, however, when
q.get() encounters the sentinel, it raises StopIteration instead
of returning the sentinel. It does not remove the sentinel from
the queue, so further calls to q.get also raise StopIteration.
That permits writing the typical "worker thread" as

I'm trying to implement an application that will listen for requests,
run them when they are present but also be able to add new requests
even while it's running. I've tried to do this using the thread and
xmlrpc modules - the idea is that an XML-RPC exposed object tell the
queue thread object to add a job. If there are no jobs running, it
creates a file, adds the new job to the end and then another
consumption thread starts working...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
