Expression in HyperLink NavigateUrl property

I would like to be able to evaluate an expression in the NavigateUrl
property of a HyperLink control. This is not a bound control. I know I can
do this easily in code-behind, but do not want to do it that way - I want to
be able to drop the link on any page.

<asp:HyperLin k ID="hlHomePage " runat="server" NavigateUrl='<% #
Session("HomePa th") & "home.aspx" %>' Text="Home"></asp:HyperLink>

The above does not evaluate and produces a link with no href, but doesn't
generate an error. Any suggestions other than doing it in code-behind?

Thanks,
Dave

Ok this is very odd. I have a hyperlink server control (not a linkbutton) on my .aspx page. When the navigateurl property is set to a file (blah.aspx) in the same directory as the current page, the page posts back BEFORE redirecting to the next page. If I change the navigateurl property to go to a page in a subfolder (foo\bar.aspx) it does not do a postback. I swear I'm not messing with it - I did the experiment 3 times in a row ......

I have a hyperlink control for which the text property is the xxx@xxx.com address in a db field. I want to display this and set the NavigateURL field of the control to the same field (with a "mailto:" prefix) in order to activate the mailto link; I'm getting errors where I try to put the mailto into the control coding. Am I going about this wrong or is there a way to do this inside the hyperlink control's NavigateURL property? Rod

I have a data grid with a hyperlink column. The hyperlink is created by a class that extracts the link from an XML Document. How can I populate the hyperlink column in the data grid with the value (link) returned from my class method? I have to send the company ticker to the class in order to get the correct link. I tried embedding the method into the NavigateURL property of the data grid (i.e. NavigateUrl="GetCompanyLink(Ticker)")...

Hi, all: I need a help from you about DataGrid control. I created a DataGrid, dg, in design view of .NET visual Stadio and use the builder to add a Hyperlink column to dg. I want to try to assign a column of URLs to this hyperlink column in programming way (ie., dynamically assignment). However, I can not find a way to continue doing it. Do you have ideas about it? Thanks.

Hi There, I need a control on my site that is a hyperlink style control, but it must, 1) Have a property that can hold where the hyperlink is pointing to. (e.g. like the NavigateUrl property in the asp:hyperlink control). 2) Also can call my own method when the user clicks on the link (e.g. like the Click event in the asp:linkbutton control).

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
