Hi,
why is session object null if the ashx file is requested? How can I force
to create session when the request is to custom handler?
Thanks,
Jan 3 3360
At what point are you trying to get the session?
For instance, it wouldn't be available inside of a constructor or a finalizer

Yes, that was the point as I found on the web later. Sorry for the FAQ, the
answer was easier than I thought it would be.

As VS.NET is not being very supportive in creating a ASHX http handler, i
would like to use a codebehind VB file as to get intellisense features etc
on it's code.
I just cannot get ashx to work with codebehind, the only reference claiming
it can be done i could find in google is this:
http://weblogs.asp.net/kdente/posts/10622.aspx
I tried using the class name as suggested, to no avail...

use it?
Thanks,

I am trying to add a Generic Handler (ASHX) to my web site solution. In
order to do that I have to specifiy an assembly name in the web.config file.
But since 2.0 web sites are no longer pre-compiled I get an error when
trying to load the first page.
<system.web>
<httpHandlers>
<add verb="GET,POST" path="*.angel" type="Namespace.MyHandler" />

Hi.
How can I join session or read Session variables if I have the SessionID
(or anything what I can supply)?
Imagine I have a external link from my webpages, which opens an application
which is expected to make requests to the server. It starts another session,
but I need to use the session from browser.
To the link I'm able to send any property the server can give me.
Thanks, Jan.

Hi,
After I right-click on my web application project file and choose
"Publish ." and do the publishing, the result publishable files does not
include the *.ashx files. Is it by design? How can I add *.ashx files to
the publish target?

I am using a handler (processImage.ashx) to display an image. The image is
displayed according to parameters passed in the querystring. The handerl is
called via some clientside javascript.
I want to send an array of unknown length to the handler. I am not sure
whether the querystring is the best place to do this. What's the best way to
send an array held in the client side javascript to the handler?
Thanks in advance,
JJ

Hi,
We have an asp.net web application with an .ashx handler that is called from
javascript from the same web app.
We used to run the web app on one server and the ashx calls from the
javascript running in the client browser worked fine.
Now we have another server with the application on it and the two servers
are running in a web farm.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
