gridview won't sort in master page

I'm using a master page in my web app. On my content pages I have the
gridview and I need to able to sort the grid. I can sort the grid fine if its
not in a master page, but when I put it in a master page and click on a
header to sort, the page reload and goes blank. What has to happen to be able
to sort the gridview in a master page?

I've chosen to implement the "optimistic concurrency" model in my application. To assist in that, I've added a ROWVERSION (TIMESTAMP) column to my main tables. I read the value of the column in my select, remember it, and then use it in the update. It works just fine when I have full control of the whole process. I want to do the same for my GridView/SqlDataSource combinations. I typically select from a view and update the corresponding...

I have a GridView bound to an ObjectDataSource. I have a Button that calls GridView.DataBind. I want the row that is selected before the DataBind to still be selected afterwards. This happens automatically if the data doesn't change. But if records have been added or deleted then it looks as if some code is necessary: I've done this by using GridView.SelectedValue to get the key value of the currently selected Row and then by itterating...

I am working with a multi-field search form which, when the form is submitted, queries a database and returns the results into a paginated GridView object. The site is being developed with master pages. So far, I have had success in building the search form, and passing the values entered by the user from the form to a results page, and displaying the entire resultset using GridView. However, when I set the AllowPaging option on the...

ASP.Net 2.0 / C# / IIS 6 I have 2 pages. The master page consists of a tabbed menu created using the Menu and MultiView controls. Something like this: http://fredrik.nsquared2.com/viewpost.aspx?PostID=344&showfeedback=true The second page is a user control that contains a GridView control linked to a database table. What's supposed to happen is that the user clicks on a menu choice and an appropriate user control will load. For...

In my gridview I have 2 -3 template fields which are hyperlinks. I allow the user to print this grid. When the grid prints it also prints the links, how can I take the user to a print preview page and not show the templated fields, (hyperlinks) and also not print those fields?

I have a gridview that I bind to a List(of Type) at runtime. Not using a datasource control. The gridview has a template column with an imagebutton whose commandname is set to 'Delete'. The footer template has an commandbutton with the commandname set to 'Insert'. Both buttons cause postback, however the RowCommand event does not fire. How can I get the rowcommand to fire?

Hi all, I'm a newbie to Atlas (and recently ASP.NET) after coming from a long Java background, also have done quite a bit with an Ajax.NET/ASP.NET 1.1 project, but it was basically all javascript, nothing really having to do with ASP.NET... I'm attempting to put together an application that consists of several GridView controls each bound to some xml data. Each table exists in its own update panel. The two effects I'm going for are:

When I do a sorta on 1 table, then the other table goes back to the original order. What can I set so, it keeps the order of the other current gridview's order. I set all the gridview values in my 'onpageload' in the cs file.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
