Howdy,
I am having trouble with the objectCategory=group member.Count attribute.
I get one of three counts, a number between 1-999, no member (does not
contain member property), or 0. Using LDIFDE as a comparison I get the same
results. No members means just that, an empty group. Zero means that the
DirectorySearcher.SizeLimit has been exceeded....

Hi all,
I've got a server that handles a relatively high number of concurrent
transactions (on the magnitude of 1000's per second). Client
applications establish socket connections with the server. Data is
sent and received over these connections using the asynchronous model.
The server is currently in beta testing. Sporadically over the course
of the day, I'll observe the thread count on the process (via perfmon)
start climbing....

I want to show number of active users (login users) on my web page.
Creating the number of activate users is easy. I increased an
application variable (Application("numOfUsers")) by one when a user is
logged in. But a problem comes up when decreasing this application
variable. I made this decramention in session_end but for a long time
there is no change on the value of application variable. I think this

I must be missing it somehow...
I need to count the number of threads running, not just those started by my
application. Rather like the Task Manager, I would like to get the total
number of threads that are active.
What would be the most reliable way to obtain this number?

For reasons I won't get into here, I'd be curious if anyone has
tried to write an ASP.NET 2.0 site that could restrict the number of active
sessions
before disabling the application. By disable, I mean just stop the site
from functioning properly. Of course, the solution would need to be
"relatively" tamper proof.
I've worked up specs for this but was interested in the opinions
