Helo all --
I'm trying to gain a deeper understand for what type of
semi-declarative programming can be done through XML and XPath/XSLT.
I'm looking at graph processing problems as a testbed for this, and
came across a problem that I haven't been able to solve elegantly. The
problem is to find "linker" vertexes that a pair of verteces from a
pre-defined set. For example, if the graph verteces represent cities
and edges represent flights...

I have a query written in MS Access that has a few calculated fields. Is it
possible to refer to that query in a form field. I'd like the form field to
show the sum of one of the columns from the query I've written. I've tried
to put the following in the form field's control source property but I'm
getting an error. Query1 is the name of the query and CalculatedTotal is
the calc'd field column I'm trying to get a total for in the form...

Hello,
I am trying to bind a DataGrid with some data from a DataSet which
contains fields in the form "group.fieldname". I am certain that my
data source contains the field but I cannot get my head around which
syntax to use when specifying which field to bind to the DataGrid.
I have tried
<%# DataBinder.Eval( Container.DataItem, "Group.FieldName" ) %>

Hi;
I am sure I am missing something here but I cannot figure it out. Below I
have a program and I cannot figure out why the xpath selects that throw an
exception fail. From what I know they should work.
Also the second nav.OuterXml appears to also be wrong to me.
Can someone explain to me why this does not work? (This is an example from a
program we have where xpath can be entered in two parts so we have to be able

I've spent loads of time Googling to try to work this one out and I'm
sure it's something obvious.
I get an InvalidOperationException reading "Databinding methods such as
Eval(), XPath(), and Bind() can only be used in the context of a
databound control" when I start my page. Unless I'm missing something
obvious, this is *not* the same issue as the "2-way databinding
cascading lists" issue in...

In effort to prioritize our goals we composed the list of random features
each of them may add value to set of XSLT tools offered from Microsoft.
1. XSLTc (Compiler for XSLT stylesheets, that generates .NET
assemblies)
2. Performance improvements in the XslCompiledTransform

I'm trying to filter the records on the mainform (MailingList) of my
database using a field contained in a subform (Donations). I was
basing my code off Allen Browne's Access Tips page (here:
http://allenbrowne.com/ser-28.html) since it has worked so well in the
past. However, now I'm trying to filter by date instead of by a
string or a number, and I'm getting nowhere. My goal is to have users
type a date into the unbound combo box and...

I've looked, and not found much. I have a text field in a form named , which acquires its data through a control source of =getLocation()
the getLocation() function returns a DLookup, which changes based on some other field of that record.
Now, I would like the form footer to count the two different locations that may occur. So, naturally I tried:
=Count(IIf(="Home",0))
This not only returns #Error on that field, but every other...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
