Upload control - certain files prevents postback

Hi all,

Got a strange issue here:
By using the upload control and browsing to a certain file, my
btnUpload_click event wont fire.

Other files are uploaded without problems.

The acl settings are the same for all files, but this one file, on
selection via browse, breaks the server side processing.

Any ideas?

Hello there, I am at my wit's end ! I have used the following script succesfully to upload an image to my web space. But what I really want to be able to do is to update an existing record in a table in MySQL with the path & filename to the image. I have successfully uploaded and performed an update query on the database, but the problem I have is I cannot retain the primary key field in a variable which is then used in a SQL update...

Hi, We face problems uploading excel (with macros) documents using HTML File Upload. The file contents are corrupted while viewing the same. However, we are able to upload excel (w/o. macros) documents successfully. Is there anything we have to take care of, while handling uploads of excel documents with macros? Thanks in advance,

Can I use HtmlInputFile to only get the selected file name but not actually upload the file? Clicking the control's Browse button let's the user select a file. All I need is the HtmlInputFile Value property. However, any button clicked on the Html page results in uploading the selected file. Is there a way to avoid the actual uploading? Alternatively, is there any other way to let a user select a file name from his local disk?

I am trying to develop a web service to accept a file uploaded via http post from a vba (Access) application. Thanks to helpful links in a vb newsgroup and my previous work with WinInet api I was able to write the code to do the upload. I know this works because I tested by posting to an asp page that saves the file. Now I need to create a .NET web service to accept and save the file. Of all the web service samples I found, the only ones...

Hi all, I've got a form that consists of a bunch of textboxes and also file upload inputs. For both sets of fields, I need to be able to add in additional elements on the fly. This is done by an "Add Textbox" and "Add Upload Fields" button that I use Javascript to add to the fields. I use client-side Javascript only to add to the fields. The problem comes when I submit the form. When I submit the form, the files uploaded present no...

The basic purpose of the site is for authenticated users to post event listings, which often include photographs. The user is faced with a page where they can insert all of the information about the event in a typical form with textboxes, drop down lists, etc. On this page there are also 4 file upload controls where the user can select 0 to 4 images on their file system for inclusion in the event listing. On submit, the images (if any)...

Heya all, I'm working on a web-based application (using ASP.NET and C# on .NET 1.1.4322, supporting only IE6 for Windows) that allows for file uploads. Screen real estate is at a premium, so I want to set its style to "display: none;" and interact only with the standard file upload dialog (which can be summoned by firing the click() method of the control). Attempting programmatic access of a file upload control is generally playing...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
