What is advantage of Skin over CSS? They both control the appearance of
WebControls, and CSS also controls HTML controls.
Please help

Skins do not only set the appearance of a control, but also its behaviour.
Using skins, you can predefine a set of properties for a control. CSS is
used additionally to skins to refine the control's appearance.

You'd think it'd be easier to find the answer to this question.
Did a search, and all I can find is people asking why something's not
working and people replying it's because register_globals is off.
I found one person said: "The change is for the better since
register_global turned to on had some grim security implications." but
no mentioning of what those are!
I'm working on a server now, with a couple hundred PHP pages someone
has...

Hi
I'm trying to define a skin for a custom control. I can't see how to do
it...
My custom control inherits from a TextBox but it doesn't recognize the
skinID defined for asp:TextBox.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Fred

I'm very confused about how this works, all the tutorials out there
show me how to apply a skin to a webcontrol, but I want to know how
I can access the components of a control....for example:
I have a usercontrol, the ascx is defined like this:
<%@ Control Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true"
CodeFile="Test.ascx.cs" Inherits="Spin.Test" %>
<asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" Height="243px" Width="350px">

Hello,
I have a page which I am converting to use themes. The page has an HTML
<input type="image"> element that is used to post to another page. I
would like to replace this with a server control so I can add a skinid.
I tried adding runat="server" and the skinid to the existing control,
but that didn't work. Any other ideas? TIA

Hello,
I am just converting a 1.1 web site to use version 2.0 of the framework
and have run into a weird problem trying to add a skin file.
I set up a theme, and moved the CSS file in there, no problem. I then
changed one of the <img> tags in the master page to look like...
<asp:Image ID="imgBsd" SkinId="imgBsd" runat="server" />

Hi all,
After getting bogged down with work for a few months, I'm finally back
to Shed Skin development. I have just released 0.0.15, with the
following changes:
-python2.5 support/compatibility
-any, all, conditional expression support
-moved libs to 'lib' dir; made it easier to add modules (see README)
-os.stat, os.path.{split, splitext, isfile, isdir, islink, exists}

I have the following entry in a .skin file:
<asp:button runat=server SkinId=btnSubmit ImageUrl="~/Images/
submit.gif" />
But I want to make the image an embedded resource in a different
assembly, using WebResource.axd.
How can I do this?

Hi all,
I have recently released version 0.0.20 and 0.0.21 of Shed Skin, an
optimizing Python-to-C++ compiler. Shed Skin allows for translation of
pure (unmodified), implicitly statically typed Python programs into
optimized C++, and hence, highly optimized machine language. Besides
many bug fixes and optimizations, these releases add the following
changes:
-support for 'bisect', 'collections.deque' and 'string.maketrans'

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
