The documentation for the SiteMapNode class refers to a public property
named Item, which is supposed to get a custom attribute from the Attributes
collection. But when I include this line in my aspx:
<%= SiteMap.CurrentNode.Item %>
I get this compiler error:
CS0117: 'System.Web.SiteMapNode' does not contain a definition for
'Item'

Hi,
I wrote my own SiteMapProvider which fetches the data from
a Sql Database (Navigation hierarchy). But this data
(categories) could contain absolute external Urls (like
http://google.com/) as well as duplicate Urls to the same
local or external file.
In both scenarios the runtime throws an exception. Is there
a known workaround?

Hi,
I have written a custom SiteMapProvider to retrieve site map data from a SQL
Server database table. It works fine when used as the data source for a Menu
control, so I am confident that all the nodes are being correctly populated.
However, when used with a TreeView control, only the first node displays. Any
suggestions on why this might be the case?
Thanks.

I've got a pretty basic sitemap setup, but am getting a runtime error: "The
SiteMapProvider 'MySiteMap' cannot be found."
This occurs only when I access my website under IIS 5.1. When I run my app
under the debugger (localhost:1946) I have no problem. I thought of trying
IIS6.0, but am running XP, so can't upgrade to 6.0. Any ideas?

When I started a new ASP project I was eager to use the login facilities
offered in Framework 2.0/VS 2005.
I wanted:
- A custom principal that could hold my integer UserID from the database
- An easy way to classify different pages as either Admin, Member or Public,
where login is necessary for Admin and Member but not for Public. My idea was
to put the pages in different directories to easily keep my order.
- An easy menu system that...

Hello,
How to make a SiteMapDataSource to use a SiteMapProvider defined in
Web.Config?
I think I should use something like:
MySiteMapDataSource.Provider = ...
However I don't know what to place in "...".
I tried to use a string with the name of the provider but it didn't

Hello,
I need to create a custom SiteMapProvider.
I searched in Google for examples but I am still completly lost.
The custom SiteMapProvider I need to create is exactly the same as the
Asp.Net SiteMapProvider:
The only difference is:
attribute Visible = "True".

Is it a problem to attach Non-static site map providers under one that
inherits from StaticSiteMapProvider ?
We are implementing a custom site map provider for a website that is being
converted to ASP.NET 2.0. The conversion is going well because some of the
features, like Master Pages and Site Maps, of ASP.NET 2.0 allow us to migrate
away from a "top frame" style of navigation to a standard dynamic cascading
top menu with minimal...

Hello, i have created a custom sitemap datasource. The sitemap gets all
pages from a collection from a CMS system (not directly from a database).
I have declared my sitemap provider as default in web.config. In the pages I
have a sitemap datasource and corresponding menus.
Question:
- Where is the data cached?
- How can I release it from the cache and refresh the data?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
