registering multiple sitemap files

-D-
I am trying to use multiple sitemaps within my site as described in the
following MSDN article:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms178426.aspx

I tried adding the following to the web.config file:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuratio n xmlns="http://schemas.microso ft.com/.NetConfigurati on/v2.0">
<appSettings>
<add key="Connection String" value="Password =xxxxx;Persist Security
Info=True;User ID=username;Ini tial Catalog=DBName; Data Source=SERVERNA ME" />
</appSettings>
<system.web>
<siteMap defaultProvider ="XmlSiteMapPro vider">
<providers>
<add name="TopNaviga tionBar" type="System.We b.XmlSiteMapPro vider"
siteMapFile="~/NavigationMenus/TopNavigationBa r.sitemap" />
<add name="LeftNavig ationBar"type=" System.Web.XmlS iteMapProvider"
siteMapFile="~/NavigationMenus/LeftNavigationB ar.sitemap" />
</providers>
</siteMap>
<compilation debug="true"/>
<authenticati on mode="Windows"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

But, I recieved the following error: the provider 'XmlSiteMapProv ider'
specified for the defaultProvider does not exist in the providers
collection.

Where did I go wrong?

I've a question about generating pages for search engines. It's possible to detect a bot coming on a website and then show a complete other page for it ? My main page is mainly graphic, with a form. Quite no text at all. I would preffer instead to show a site description to bots ! Not spamming at all, just trying to tell to the bots that my site is not what people see and just a search engine, but a real site with real potential. How...

I have a current website divided into 2 sections. Each section needs it's own sitemap and treeview. Is it possible to have 2 different sitemaps in a website? Everything that I have read says you create a web.sitemap file and stick it in your root and connect it to the treeview. I don't see anything about needing 2 web.sitemap files and 2 trees. Thanks for your help. -- Message posted via DotNetMonster.com

Although this question involves Flash, I suspect the actual issue is an asp one.. I am trying to open the web.sitemap file in an .swf file enbedded in an asp page (I'm working in VS 2005). I get an error in Flash when it trys to open this file using standard Flash commands. However when I change the file name and command to 'Web.xml' it works. (it also works if I don't change the name, but run the swf in flash player and not via the...

Hi. I'm using VS2005 Pro to work on a website project for my company. The site has several navigation elements, all based on the standard VS2005 navigation components. I have high-level section navigation provided via a horizontal menu, a SiteMapPath to provide a breadcrumb and a vertical menu component on the left edge.

Hi, I am building a new site where I want to utilise the new Menu control feature with .Net 2.0. I can see how this normally works, ie. by defining a SiteMapDataSource control and use of the map.sitemap xml file which defines the menu nodes & sub-nodes that will be used to build the menu. My problem is this : I want the menu displayed to be dependent on the role of the logged on user. If an Administrator logs in, I want to

In Vs2005 VB.net. How do you localize the title and the description of the pages in the web.sitemap file? For instance in the simple sitemap below <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" > <siteMapNode url="Default.aspx" title="Login" description="Login" >

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
