Hi,
I use Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition with Visual SourceSafe 6.0d.
But I could not find a way in this VS to exclude a folder, such as images
folder, from SourceSafe. I can do this with VS 2003 Architect Edition.
This function is also available in VS 2005 Team Suite.
Would you please tell me how to do it in Visual Studio 2005 Standard Edition?
Thank you

Hi, Juan,
Noboady talks about this at the places you mentioned. The Professional
edition does have
such functionality. I guess Microsoft removed this functionality from
Standard Edition.

I'm using Visual Studio, with ASP.NET. Is VSS on a separate CD.
Also, is it possible to use the VSS beta (2005) with .NET if I'm not using
the .NET beta.
And finally, where do I get the VSS beta... when I go to msdn, it just
directs me to a page with Whidbey downloads.... nothing mentioned on VSS

I'm not one to rant or flame....so please excuse me while I do so for this
once. I've now spent a bit of time working with VS2005 beta 2 to see how it
functions for web development, especially how our current extensive number
of .Net 1.1 web apps convert to it. After a week's time I dont's mind the
converted app code that was broken and had to be changed, due to
deprecation, new framework classes (some of which have names identical to...

Previously, we could use Visual Studio .Net 2002 combined with Visual
SourceSafe 6.0 to maintain version control for Stored Procedures.
(refer to "How to add SQL Server 2000 Stored Procedures to Visual
SourceSafe by using Visual Studio .NET" at

details pls.) The most helpful thing is, there is a synchrinization
link between the SQL 2000 Server and the VSS Database, we...

In VS 2003, I was able to exclude full folders from a project but I can't
do the same in VS 2005. I can exclude files but not folders. I prefer to
exclude at the folder level because the folder icon has visual indicator.

Hi,
How to exclude the App_Data directory from Visual SourceSafe?
It appears that Vs 2005 automatically adds the App_Data directory with the
large binary MDF and LOG files to the Visual SourceSafe.
Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
Thanks,

I have a project that we have had in 2005 for a couple months now and
everything has been working fine. Now today I open it up and get the latest
version from SourceSafe and I made a few changes to the codebehind and I
placed a few breakpoints in the codebehind but none of the breakpoints were
being hit. Upon closer inspection i noticed that once I started running the
program in debug mode the normal breakpoint circle turned to a...

Hi, i just recently installed VB 6.0 and Sourcesafe 6.0 onto Windows XP.
Unfortunately, now my .NET project are using VSS 6.0 for source control
instead of VSS 2005 which it was which it was previously using. Is there a
way to tell the .NET IDE to use Sourcesafe 2005 only?
Thanks!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
