Hi,
I am trying the new ObjectDataSource from ASP.NET 2.0. I connected a
Gridview with ObjectDataSource which is connected to a webservice which
returns a DataSet. In the Webmethod I return only the rows for the
current page because paging is enabled, I use the parameters
maximumRows and startRowIndex for doing this. I also got sorting to
work using the parameter sortExpression.
The method of the webservice looks like this:

Hello,
Does anyone have an idea on how I can filter the data in the gridview
control that was returned by an sql query?
I have a gridview that works fine when I populate it with data. Now I want
to look at that data and filter it based on what is in it.
I know that this could have been done with data sets and data views in
asp.net 1.1 but how is this done now in asp.net 2.0?

Hi
I've implemented caching for my ObjectDataSource.
<asp:ObjectDataSource ID="ObjectDataSource1" runat="server"
EnableCaching="True" CacheDuration="10" CacheExpirationPolicy="Sliding"
SelectMethod="GetUsers" TypeName="BizObject"></asp:ObjectDataSource>
This works, however I need to explicitly clear/remove the cache when I

Hello all,
I feel dumb having to ask this question in the first place, but I just
can not figure it out. I am wanting to set my site up using dynamic
urls (I'm assuming that's what they're called, an example of what I
have in mind is index.php?page=). However, I can not figure
out how to do this. I will eventually want to use SEF urls, but for now
I'll be content just to have the dynamic urls. If anyone can tell me
how to do this, I'd...

Hi ALL,
I wonder if anyone has been using n-tier to bind to a GridView control by
using the ObjectDataSource. This is our first OOP web application, and we
have no tables. Right now we are simply working with objects in memory.
So, it appears as though Microsoft requires that our datamapper classes
reside inside a folder called "App_Code", and NO WHERE ELSE.
So, has anyone successfully been able to place their datamappers in a...

Hello All,
I know this has to be something simple but I have having a hard time finding
examples. I need to add a dynamic listbox to a gridview.
For example, my grid view displays categories and then in each row/ category
I have a list box that displays items in the category.
Can anyone give any pointers or examples?

The default paging behavior of the gridview doesn't work well with very large
sets of data which means we have to implement some sort of custom paging.
The examples I have seen (4guysfromrolla, etc.) suggest using an
ObjectDataSource which has built-in paging functionality that, when used in
conjunction with certain SQL 2005 functionality, only works with the records
to be displayed on the page rather than the entire set. The problem with...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
