I have a sequence of clicks in my apps that are always causing the
session to start again. This is definitely not being caused by a
timeout, cause it always happens no matter how long since the last
load. It is happening right after a this.Response.R edirect(myURL+
querystring).
This line of code is executed in other areas fine, so nothing wrong
with the actual line, but I always get a session_start event right
after this is executed after
I have tried with both inproc and stateserver and this keeps happening,
both in my machine and in 2 other servers I have tried.
My question is what reasons can cause a session to restart, other than
a timeout and a call to Session.Abandon ()? Is there a way that I can
track down what is causing it here, similar to the stack trace.

Hi folks,
I am working with PHP 4.3.8, Linux, and Apache 1.3.31 on a third-level or
sub domain.
The following code will diplay foo, session_id(), and increment count over
refreshes:
<?php
session_start();

In one of my web developments, the Application_End event occurs several
times while a user browses the pages. Because I make use of extensive
session tracking and also provide a couple of services that need the session
state, that is highly problematic as the sessions are abandoned when the
application ends. I have observed this behaviour for quite a while now,
locally as well as on the web, so it must be due to some of my code.
Is there...

If you use StreamWrite Write or WriteLine it causes Session to End!
e.g.
FileStream fs = File.Open(fileName,FileMode.Append,FileAccess.Write);
StreamWriter sw = new StreamWriter(fs);
sw.Write("test");
sw.Close();
fs.Close();
Now all session information is lost!!
Is there a work around for this ?

Hi gang,
This one looks like a bug :o(
As you may or may not know, setting session management in web.config to use
cookieless sessions causes the ASP.NET runtime to munge a session ID into
the URL, in the format http://yourapplicationpath/(Session.SessionID)/...
which saves numerous headaches when it comes to storing state across page
requests and sessions.

Hi NG,
We have a rather large ASP.NET application that uses popups to display
various dialogs to the user. In our work we've come over a rather annoying
"bug":
If we open a modal dialog using the javascript command
window.showModalDialog() we loose the current Session if a new window is
opend from within the modal one (using the window.open() method). The
"funny" thing is that this only occurs if another instance of IE has been

Hello,
Does anyone have a problem with Apache2 crashing after executing a PHP
script with session_start()? I notice if session_start() is placed
anywhere except at the start of the file, APache will crash. Can anyone
explain to me why? I don't want session_start to be at the start of the
file because I need to override some session methods. So session_start
has to happen after the declaration of custom session methods.
Can anyone...

Here's the sitch:
I read in a csv file with 60000 lines (20 fields per record), and store
the data to a local array. The file is read in and stored just fine and
pretty quick.
Now, if I try to assign that array to a session variable it chokes.
e.g. create array and load each element with a row from the file (btw,
each row is an array as well, using fgetcsv()). When local array is
loaded, I assign to session var as so:
$_SESSION =...

I have an ASP page that is using an XMLHTTP object to request various
pages from my server. I keep a single session throughout the XMLHTTP
requests by bassing the ASPSESSIONID cookie through the XMLHTTP object.
However, when the page requested through the XML object makes a
<%Response.Redirect()%>
call, a new session is created each time.
Is this a flaw in the XMLHTTP Object? How can I force the session to
remain the same after a...

In my asp.net 2.0 web application, in Web.config, I have
timeout="30", s l i d i n g E x p i r a t i o n = "true"
for the Authentication element. I suppose, this means that as long as
we don't let a 30 min elapse without making any request, the session
should stay alive, right?
But I notice that quite often, the application throws out Null
reference exception where I try to access a session variable like so:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
