ASP.NET 2.0 Login Control and Page_Load()

Hello I was wondering if someone could help. I have setup Membership login
with a ASP.NET 2.0 login control. All works, but I want to do some extra
formatting before showing the page. I inserted a code behind with a
Page_load routing. But the routing does not execute, its like it is
completely ignored. Is this by design? Thanks.

Hard to say. Does the code execute without the login control? Why not
just use the templating the login control provides?

I found out why. The AutoWireUp was set to false by default in VS2005 Web
Developer. Thanks everyone.

Hi, I have a web application that has a number of users who administer their own data... i have several pages that check to see if a valid userID session exists, and if not, send them to a Login.aspx page (where a userID session is generated upon successful login). my pages are user specific, so each page will load data specific to that user (hence the need to maintain a userID). if users attempt to hit a page that requires a userID,...

We have a secure login page known as the Clinical Portal (single login etc) - we have a web user control for this which checks if a session is available or not and redirects the user to the Clinical Portal to login if not etc. I have dragged the .ascx (SessionCheck.ascx) across and thought all was well

I'm trying to create a forked login where users of certain roles will be redirected to specific pages. The easy way to do this would be to do the redirecting in the Page_Load() of the default page after login, but I'd like to skip this step and just have the Login control go ahead and do it. So my plan is this: override the OnLoggedIn() method of the Login control with my own custom method that changes the DestinationPageUrl property...

Does anybody know a way to make the button on the Login control be the default button on the page? I have a master page with an ImageButton and a content page with a Login control. When I enter the id and password and press the Enter key, the ImageButton (on the master page) fires instead of the Login button of the Login control on the content page. The Login composite control does not appear to expose a reference to its button. ...

I'd like to add the following attributes to the Login control's Login Button to create a CSS rollover effect. How can I access the control's login button from the page's code-behind? I'm having trouble creating a simple login page using the asp:login control. I followed some instructions in a WROX book, "Beginning ASP.NET 2.0," and the instructions are very straight forward, but it won't work for me. Here's what I did. 1. Created a new folder named "testlogin" 2. Turned that folder into an application using the IIS properties 3. Created two new web form pages, /testlogin/default.aspx and /testlogin/login.aspx...

I have a Login.aspx page that takes care of all my login procedures (validation, lockouts, password change requirements, password retrieval, etc.) It works like a charm. However, now I'd like a "quick login" control to appear in the banner at the top of my master page. This control will just have a username and password textbox and login button. I want to reuse all the same code. Plus, if the credentials are incorrect, or additional...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
