I keep running into this over and over again...
I want a block server control that renders a header and footer, and child
controls in between.
But I don't want a templated control, for the following reasons:
1) Render blocks are not allowed inside a templated control.
2) I want the inner controls scoped at the parent aspx (or ascx), not at the
template naming container.
This type of control would be ideal for website headers and...

I am using the following code to preload a few controls in the FooterRow
within a GridView control:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) {
((TextBox)GriwViewRates.FooterRow.FindControl("TextBoxRateInsert")).Text
= "60";
}
The successfully loads the Footer / TextBox on page load but fails to load
the Footer / TextBox when the GridView is Paged. The line still executes

I've got a gridview (that I converted over from a datagrid, which had
been working properly), that is doubling up the number of rows returned.
When it was running as a datagrid, the same code sent back the
proper number of rows. The only thing different I am doing is to
display the number of rows returned in the footer of the gridview.
The Bindgrid is as follows:
Sub BindGrid()
Session("reportlevel") = Session("availabilityrptlevel")

Hello,
I am working with a ListView but I suppose that with a GridView might
be the same.
Instead of having an Insert Button on each GridView row I would like
to have only one Insert button, for example, in the GridView footer.
When this button is clicked it should put the GridView in Insert Mode
and the EditTemplate should be showed, maybe (?), in the last GridView

I'm using a GridView inside a Wizard Control with a textbox and two
listboxes in the footer. I populate these listboxes from the database if the
page isn't on postback (and the textbox is left blank initially). All of
these controls have viewstate enabled.
When the user fills out the textfield and clicks ADD, I do a check for
validation of the data. If the user does not select a valid listbox entry, I
abort the rest of the add, and make...

I am building a GridView that is displaying some money values in 3 columns.
I want to put the totals of each column in a label field (one for each
column) in the footer.
I was trying to figure out which was the faster way or more efficient way.
I originally thought about getting SQL to do it, but that would entail
either a second Select or some type of subquery or self join, which I am not
sure is the best way.

This should be REALLY straightforward. I have a gridview that allows
editing, deleting and inserting (from the footer row). There is a Drop
Down ListBox in the one column, which needs to ALWAYS set to a default
value (but not always the same value, so I can't set it declaritively.
It will ultimately depend on a session variable as to which default to
use).
However, the point is that the DDL in the footer (insert) row must
ALWAYS be set,...

How do I set the footer text for a GridView that has AllowPaging set
to True? I can only get the footer to appear on the first page but I
really want the same text to appear in the footer of all pages, how do
I do that?
Example Code:
Protected Sub Get_Data()
adsQuotes.SelectCommand = "SELECT FROM WHERE
( 0)" 'access data source
adsQuotes.DataBind()

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
