I've got an application that I want to redirect to another file while
keeping the location of the file hidden. In other words,
WEBROOT.COM/REDIT.ASP?a=14
is going to display the contents of file
WEBROOT.COM/SECURE12954
without the user knowing they are in the /SECURE12954 subdir.

I set the Response.Filter in my aspnet application but I
have noticed that if you do a Server.Transfer that the
filter doesn't get called. And in actual fact the response
is mostly empty. It seems that only scripts get rendered.
I have seen this mentioned on this newsgroup before but
with no resolution. Can anyone give any insight into this
problem. Is there a work around? Manually push the
Reponse.OutputStream through your filter after...

Hi,
I'd like to know the performance related differences between
Response.Redirect and Server.Transfer.
I'd like to redirect the user to a different page.
I can either do a Response.Redirect("URL") or a Server.Transfer("URL").
So I'd like to find out which is more efficient/better.
Can anyone please tell me or give any pointers to links on the web?

I want to do a Server.Transfer to get to a second page, so that I may
retrieve variables I have set in the first page. I'm doing that with the
usual Server.Transfer("pagename", true). My problems are as follows:
1. On the initial load everything seems to be referencing from the first
page. For example, my style sheet I reference using "../../styles.css" but
it seems to need "../styles.css" as the first page is one step...

Hi
I'm posting back to a second page using Server.Transfer().
There are buttons on this second page that use Respose.Redirect() since some
of the pages are html's and the Transfer function cant be used. This causes
very wierd results: the page accessed through the Redirect function appears
as the sending page in address bar and nothing show up in content.
Is it that once you use the Transfer() Function you are forbidden to use...

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
