DetailsView ItemCreated -- possible to hide row?

K B
Hi,

I have a DetailsView and on the ItemCreated event I can hide a control
based on meeting criteria, but I can not figure out how to hide the row.

Example,
If ddlType.selecte dvalue = 1 Then
Dim t As TextBox = CType(dvInitiat eJob.FindContro l("ActualEndDat e"),
Control)
'HIDE THE ROW WITH 'ActualEndDate' textbox control

As always, your help is appreciated.

thanks,
Kit

I have a *single* SqlDataSource that loads up a single result set that I show in a GridView. In the GridView, i've added a "Select" button and handling the SelectedItem event. I also have a DetailsView (though FormView has this same issue) where I want to be able to set the current item to bind to from the DataSource. All the examples I've seen use two data sources and on every *select* they do another round-trip to the Database (which...

I need to customize the DetailsView New record (insert) so that it gets the maximum value of ROWID and adds 1, places that value in the textbox and makes it read only. Also, I have a field called "DATEEVENT". I would like to place a calendar control there instead of the textbox that is shown. Thanks for any help. -- Get a powerful web, database, application, and email hosting with KJM

Hi, Is there ANY WAY to hide a row/field in a DetailsView based on meeting a condition at the ItemCreated or ModeChanging event -- or any other way? There appears not to be, but I was hoping for confirmation before totally giving up. Thanks, Kit

Hi, I made a detailsview containing several fields for inserting only. I also made a dropdownlist which is invisible at start. Now, when clicking in a particular textbox, the dropdownlist must become visible (in order to put the selected value of the dropdownlist into the textbox of the detailsgrid.). I must say, the detailsview contains textboxes, but also a checkbox. I tried a lot of things, but i don't know which events to take:

Hi, When running this code, the detailsview doesn't get the focus. The fields of the detailsview are programmatically created. I use therefore the dtreader.FieldCount. What's wrong with this code? Thanks for helping. Bob

I have a page with a LoginView which contains a Gridview and a DetailsView, each in its own UpdatePanel The problem that I am experiencing is that when I select a record in the Gridview (using a SelectButton), the selected record is shown in the DetailsView, which is correct - however, when I choose "Update" on the DetailsView I am presented with the EditItemTemplate which contains the first record in the DetailsDataSource. The code...

How do I change the BorderColor of the rows under the 2nd column in a DetailsView? I could change the BorderColor of the 1st column using the FieldHeaderStyle-BorderColor property but using RowStyle-BorderColor, the BorderColor of the 2nd column just refuses to change. I even tried using AlternatingRowStyle-BorderColor but that doesn't make any difference. What is surprising is the other properties of RowStyle & AlternatingRowStyle...

I have checked everything, events inside VS2008, or deleting the event and recreating it but nothing worked. I can't even make a breakpoint stop inside the event handler. Is it a bug of VS2008?

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
