Hello
I have a problem with the authentication cookie timeout in a forms
authentication.
I've developed a Web application that uses forms authentication.
My web.config is configured for the authentication cookie to expire
after 30 minutes.
The login page asks for the user's credentials and if OK, writes the
authentication cookie (through the

I have a web application that the forms authentication cookie is not expiring correctly. When I look at the trace information of a newly requested page after the session and forms authentication have expired the forms authentication cookie is assigned a new value. I am never redirected to the login page after my initial login. If I access the site from http://localhost/myapp instead of myapp.domain.com the cookies expire correctly. The cookie...

Hello all,
Not sure I can describe this adequately, but I am creating an endless loop
when an authenticated user signs out.
When the user signs out, I want to remove authentication, abandon session,
and redirect to default page. I need to use a custom cookie (I track separate
logins to multiple "companies"), so afaik can't use the standard
formsauthenication routines to create/delete the default ticket/cookie.

I have an ASP.NET application on a Win2k3 server. The user is directed
to form B (with a query string that contains the logon information).
Form B refers to Form A which validates the user according to the query
string. If valid it writes an authentication ticket and the application
returns to form B.
When I browse to the application from its web server, everything works
as expected. The trace showe that Form B is called, then Form A...

Hello, all experts:
May I ask you some questions? First, i'm programming a software of
auto-authentication by using VB.NET tool. This software's functions is
similar to do the account login through browser. I meet some questions when
I post data to authentication page. I have tested the authentication
webpages of Gemtek G-6000 and Cipherium bonalinx-W 1300 separately.
Authentication succeeds for Gemtek, unsuccessful for Cipherium. I...

I use the codes below to clear the cookie:
HttpCookie myCookie = new HttpCookie("us_id");
myCookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-1d);
Response.Cookies.Add(myCookie);
It do well when the cookie is from the web application itself,
But fail to clear when the cookie is form another application, like php.
How can I do?

Using the "SetAuthCookie" method of the "FormsAuthentication" object
sets a cookie which can be used to validate users.
Now assume that a user tries to visit an ASPX page named
"Account.aspx". Before rendering the contents of "Accounts.aspx", using
the FormsAuthentication object, I want the app to first check whether a
cookie exists or not. If no, the user should be redirected to a login
page, say, "Login.aspx" & after successful...

Hi,
In my website, i have a cookie that allows the user to remain logged in for
upto 90days. So I'm setting the cookie expiration time to 90 days in the
future from the time the user logs in. I've been testing my code and for
some reason, the cookie expires randomly before even 24 hrs has passed.
Yesterday it expired after 11hrs and 20mins.
Any idea why my cookie expiration isn't working?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
