Setting read/write access to the folder in my asp.net project

I have serious problem setting read/write privilegues to the folder for customers upload files and photos including possibilities to read them too. Version of IIS is 5.1 and I set up this folder in IIS to have read, write, directory browsing and execute scripts. Also I set up anonimous access, I even tried with All Tasks -> Permissio Wizard but it doesn't help. Error "Access to path @c/Inetub/wwwroot/projectname/customerfolder/CustomerID is denied" is repeating and can't make CustomerID folder in this folder Customerfolder that I granted all these privilegues.

I am developing a small website using ASP scripts to format data retrieved from an Access database. It will run on a Windows 2003 server supporting FrontPage extensions 2002 hosted by the company 1&1 with only limited server configuration via a web based control panel. My query relates to the ASP security model and how it relates to FrontPage options for setting file access on a database file. If you know of any online documentation...

Hi, I have a folder called "Public_Documents" on my web server. The documents in this folder should be accessible to everyone. I want to create a sub folder here "Private Documents". Only the server side web service must have write permission on this sub folder. That is because, the server side web service will create documents in ths "Private Documents" folder, read it into a memory stream and will then delete the document. This...

Hi, I need to write some code to test whether a folder has read/write permission. The idea is to try to read sub-directories in this folder, if succeed, then test whether it's read-only. Any exception thrown means we don't have permission to access this folder: bool IsDirectoryAccessible(string path) { try

In my solution, I have a project that is my data access layer. This layer simply consists of strongly-typed datasets created by dragging tables from the server explorer into the dataset designer. The connection string that it uses is stored in the My Project folder under Settings.settings. My business layer contains objects that consume the data layer to read/ write information...pretty basic. My question is....how do I tell the data...

Ive written a small string resource building utility that I send out to our translators. I have a setup project for each language we support, which picks out a group of 12 english resx files plus their paired "foreign" resx for that language only and installs those resource files in a subdirectory somewhere. I'm trying to create a setup project in visual studio 2008. Ive got my Application Folder set up with my executable. Im now...

Can we set folder permissions in IIS 5 through ASP 2.0 coding? In my case, there is a particular folder named "Resumes" in the website in which anonymous users can post their profile but only registered users should have access to. For that I've set only Write permission in the IIS for that folder which enables any user to upload the resume but also disabling the registered user to access. The registered users will be stored in SQL Server...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
