Finding Controls in a page using System.Reflecti on

Hi,
I want to find controls in a ASP.NET page using System.Reflecti on.Assembly.
I have to create an Application to set the Permission(visi ble/editable) for
each control on the page, for this i need to know what are the controls in a
asp.NET page. All I have is Assembly (.DLL) and page name.

Please help me.

Thanks!

is there a reason you want to use System.Reflecti on.Assembly? I'm not too
sure this will do the job.

If you have an ASP.NET page then you can simply use
FindControl("co ntrolName"); which is found in the System.Web.Ui.C ontol class.

I am writing an application that dynamically loads user controls at run time based on user options. I would like to give my users the ability to build their own user controls and add them to my user control folder so that they can be selected and loaded at run time also. These new controls will need to have access to many of the classes with there properties and methods within the complied code. Is this possible? This seems to be the...

Hello, I'd like to iterate through each Page of my ASP.NET project from within a Custom web control and access the Page.Controls collection. I've tried using Reflection on the web project assembly, but the controls collection count was zero. While this method gives details of the private controls in each page, I need access to actual instances of the controls to interrogate their individual properties.

What is the method used to find all asp.net server controls (run at server) such as TextBox, ListBox, CheckBox... currently defined on an Asp.Net page at run time. I need it inside of a controlled loop (for int i=...). Reason: I need to fill up an updatable dataset with all fields entered on the asp.net page instead of manually going 1 field at a time and hard code the control name (i.e. TextBoxFirstName.Text=something and so on) ...

I'm trying to load a drop-down list with all DropDownList control names from another page. How would I be able to find those DropDownList controls? The FindControl method will only find a certain control by id, but I want to find all controls of a certain type (DropDownList in this case). Is there an easier way than to get a control count of the page, loop through all controls on that page, examine their type and, if they're a...

I have a asp.net 1.1/vb application that has a page with a bunch of dynamically added User Controls. When I add the controls, I set the UserControl.EnableViewState to true. For all my controls with TextBoxes, I can get the value back out of the controls just fine. One of my User Controls has some DropDownLists as well as a TextBox. I get a value from the TextBox on postback, but not the DropDownLists. Even if I see a value selected when...

(This question has been asked previously in this group, but I don't think it was ever really properly answered.) I want to use reflection - preferably - to find all Web Forms in my web site that inherit my base page class (which in turn inherits System.Web.UI.Page). Behold the following code: For Each asm As System.Reflection.Assembly In System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies() For Each mdl As System.Reflection.Module In...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
