I have an imageurl of an image (a larger image) set to an aspx file which
does a Response.OutputStream. The url includes a query string. When the page
is loaded this aspx file for this large image is called once. The page also
has separate image buttons which are thumb images (there image url is set to
a specific picture file). If the user clicks the image button it posts back
to the server and changes the query string on the larger image...

I have a web form "Page1.asp" and it reads data from a database, does some
calculations, and displays the records in pages. Works fine.
I have a button that displays on the page, defined as <input type="button"
onClick="OutputData()">
The OutputData() function is a javascript function that simply does this:
window.location = "Page1.asp?Flag=1";

needing to complete!).

Hey all,
I'm writing a .NET application where I want all HTTP errors such as 404
to redirect back to the home page.
Since .NET only handles HTTP errors if the client is requesting a .NET
resource (.ASPX, whatever), I need to go into IIS -> Custom Errors tab
and set my homepage under each HTTP error I want to handle. This
allows my page to be shown if someone requests an .ASP or .HTM page
that doesn't exist.

We are currently facing a problem in our application – the page submission
events are getting called twice. It works fine in our local machines. As soon
as we release the compiled code to the testing server which is a vmware
server, we face the issue.
The postback happens, the Page_Init, followed by Page_Load is called and
once it executes the database call, Page_Init gets fired again.
From our logs of IIS we can see that, the page...

I have several asp.net 2.0 apps written in VS2005 in C#. For each one,
I like to create and track page view events, increment counters, etc.
I do this in a block on each page, like this...
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if(!this.Page.IsPostBack)
{
Event.Write(EventSource.UserActivity,EventType.Informational,"My
event text");

This is causing us a lot of pain right now. Does anyone know why this
happens and, more importantly, how to fix it?
TIA

Hello,
I am working on an ASP .NET application in Visual Studio 2005 and running
IE7.
This application has a page that contains an iframe which loads an .aspx
page and hyperlinks that load the iframe with different .aspx pages. The
HTML/mark up for the .aspx pages executes every time, but the Page_Load
events for the pages never run (on initial load or subsequent loads).

Hi,
I wrote a simple windows service that includes a FileSystemWatcher.
After building and installing the service (installutil) I notice that
the service executes twice. I included a write to the application
eventlog in OnStart ("service has started and is ready to watch the
filesystem") and this results in two entries in the eventlog.
Also, the handler for the FileSystemWatcher seems to be fired twice if
something happens with a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
