Looking to find any information on how to properly configure multiple
instances of DB2. This is on Win2k db2 ver 7.2. I am basically looking
for information on how the multiple instance settings should
configured to work, how memory is shared or not, etc. I can not seem
to find any good links to this information.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
I have tried creating a linked server in microsoft sql 2000 to a db2
for vm database. I use a db2 v8 admin client, configure it via client
configuration setup and then in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 enterprise
manager, I create a linked server, I use ibm oledb driver for db2,
datasource = mydatabase, product=my database, provider = db2oledb.
When I try to access the database via an openquery to the linked

Hi,
Apologies if this is the wrong newsgroup.
Is it possible to produce a dump of an app (say using ADPlus -hang -pn
app.exe) ?
I've installed all the symbols, used ADPlus on a simple .NET app to generate
a dump and then loaded the dump file into VS.NET.
And I just get gobbledegook. I can make it work for C++ apps so I know I'm
not terminally stupid.

(Apologies in advance if there is a better forum for asking advice on this
topic).
Our ASP.NET application occasionally starts spitting out OutOfMemory
exceptions. When this happens, the memory usage for that IIS worker process
is over 1GB. I understand in this sceneario that the virtual memory pool
can become fragmented and produce this type of exception.
This time, however, I was able to do an ADPlus dump while it was in this...

I'm working on adding a new .NET 2.0 web page to a web site that is currently
using only classic ASP pages and is administered via IIS 5.0. The server has
the .NET 2.0 framework installed and I am trying to deploy ASP.NET 2.0 aspx
pages to an existing folder under the web site's home directory. However,
after changing the properties of the folder, thus creating a web application,
when browsing to the *.aspx file that is deployed there, I...

PHP 5.2.3 does not seem to want to configure with GD support on Mac OS X for some reason. When configuring, you may notice this error:
configure: error: GD build test failed. Please check the config.log for details.
Checking config.log yields the following:
configure:42434: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -no-cpp-precomp -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib conftest.c -L -lfreetype -lpng...

Hi All,
We have several .NET websites running on IIS 6.0. At the moment, if a
website is down, Admin will not know until one of the users reports
it. Is there a way that we can have the admin alerted when a website
is down?
Thanks and regards,
Omar

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
