ASP.NET 2.0 Form Security Error

Hi,

I've the following code in my web.config -

<authenticati on mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="Login .aspx"
protection="All "
timeout="30"
name=".ASPXAUTH "
requireSSL="fal se"
slidingExpirati on="true"
defaultUrl="def ault.aspx"
cookieless="Use DeviceProfile"
enableCrossAppR edirects="false " />
</authentication>

And if I try "Default.as px" directly in the browser; it is not pointing to
Login.aspx!

Please advice!

Sumi,

Have you added who's allowed in the application?

You don't just need to set forms authentication you also have to set who has
access to what like this:

<authorizatio n>

<allow roles="Admin" />

<deny users="*" />

</authorization>

Regards,

Hi, I keep getting form results emailed to me that would indicate a form from my web site is getting submitted with all fields blank or empty, but my code should preventing users from proceeding if they left any field blank. My guess is that someone is trying to hack the site using the form to gain entry or run commands -- I don't really know since I'm not a hacker. I just know that forms are often susceptible to these kinds of...

I am having trouble figuring out to call a database INSERT procedure from a simple submit form. It appears I should use the onclick event to trigger the procedure called BUT when I do this I receive this error: 'btnInsert_Click' is not a member of 'ASP.Insert_aspx'. I realise the procedure is houwsed in a sub which may be what is causing the problem, but I am stumped on how to connect the form to the .NET

I've been trying to come up with a way to ensure user input is coming from the form on my site, and not auto-submitted from elsewhere, and I don't want to use the "enter the code shown in the image" method. I know the $_SERVER contents can be spoofed, so I thought of doing something similar to this: <?php session_start(); $code = mt_rand(0,1000000); $_SESSION = $code;

I'm new to C# and .net and I'm trying to create a form that will register users in a sql server database. I have the following code but when I run the code I get an error " The name 'Peter' is not permitted in this context. Only constants, expressions, or variables allowed here. Column names are not permitted. Where Peter is the value entered in the textbox for firstname (fnameTBox) I'm sure the problem is something obvious but I...

Hi all and happy holidays! I should start off by stating I am NOT a PHP programmer. I say that so that in any response to me, you will speak very s-l-o-w-l-y or I won't know what you're talking about ;-) I have this form processor script that I basically pieced together from 3 different scripts. The script includes a CAPTCHA image verification, which works fine. The problem I am having is that when the form is processed, the results...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
