Hi all.
I'm learning VB.Net and am developing a WinForms app.
I'm trying to make an app that I will use to scan in one or more than
on image. I want to use a tabbed interface to hold each image. Here's
the code I'm using for testing purposes. I've got the code in the
form's load event, but I think I'd have the same problems no matter
where the code existed. Right now, the form has an empty tab control,
everthing else is dynamic.

Hello,
I'm building a web application that will build a dynamic form based
upon questions in a database. This form will have several different
sections that consist of a panel containing one to many questions.
To keep it simple, I'll describe the basics of what I'm trying to
design.
I've created a TextBox composite control that consists of a label for

When a ASPX page is created with dynamic controls based on what the
user is doing the programmer must recreate the dynamic controls again
on PostBack in the Page_Load so that it's events are wired and are
called like a static control.
Here is the problem that I need to solve. The processing overhead
that occurs to determine what dynamic controls need to be added
involves business logic and a query or queries of data in a sql server...

I am trying to use some dynamic controls that are built and then added
to tables. The problem that I am having is the timing of when I can
populate the controls and have the state remain after a postback. The
main question would be this:
Why does this work for maintaining state after a postback for dynamic
controls:
myText = new Label();
myText.ID = "myText";

I have a web page on which I dynamically create controls based on the
selection a user makes from a dropdownlist (this ddl is not dynamic).
Depending on the user's selection, the controls could be any combination of
textboxes, ddls, popup calendars, etc. The properties of the dynamic
controls are stored in a SQL database so that my program can know what type
of control to render and what items to put in the ddl etc.
My problem is that I...

I'm creating a set of dynamic controls on a webpage by calling my
BuildControls sub in the Page_Init sub. I recreate the controls by calling
the BuildControls sub in the LoadViewState override procedure. The set of
controls will not always be the same (based on the selection the user makes
in a static ddl). The controls are persisted perfectly.
The problem I'm experiencing is that when one of the dynamic ddl's (let's
say ddl1) is...

hi all,
I have this seemingly simple problem. I have lost a lot of time on it
though.
When a user selects a value from a dropdownlist (static control) a
dynamic control is generated. I have to create the dynamic controls
in the OnInit stage of the lifecycle. Since data from static controls
is not yet available in the OnInit stage I can't know what dynamic
control I have to create.

Hi,
I've been working on a custom user control that needs to be modified
and the validation is causing me headaches.
The control used to generate a table of 4 rows x 7 columns to display
all the days in the week with dates and textboxes to fill in some
data.

Hi, I'm working in C# .net 2005 with Ajax.
I have a page that loads dynamic user controls depending on the
scenario. In those user controls, I create dynamic linkbuttons. The user
controls are loaded on the .aspx PageLoad and the linkbuttons are
created on the .ascx PageLoad. The problem I have is that those
linkbuttons don't work on the first click. I have to make 2 clicks to
have their event fired. What can I do for that ?
Thanks.

I always thought that the viewstate "keys" included the control ID. As long
as the control IDs were unique, there shouldn't be any conflicts. Well, it
appears that that may not be the case with dynamic controls. Our application
was having a problem very similar to the one described here:
http://weblogs.asp.net/alessandro/archive/2008/01/04/failed-to-load-viewstate-typical-problem-with-an-obvious-solution.aspx
Unfortunately, the "fix"...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
