This question has to do with MS file search but it is happening only with
..asp pages, so I though someone programming with .asp pages has experienced
the same situation.
I'm trying to find .asp pages with a certain table name (i.e.
"renewalInfo" )
When I ran the search I get no results. I know that I have that string in a
couple of pages. My file system search engine is working fine with other
file types, like Word documents, Excel...

Can someone with Win 2K please help me here. Best yet, can
some MVP duplicate it and report it to MS. I can't find
any reference to this issue on the Web, or in MS Knowledge
Base.
I have been able to duplicate this problem on two
different Win 2K installations.
Steps:
1. Win 2K installation, SP4 with .NET 1.1 installed

I need to search programmatically if a certain string appears inside a PDF
or CHM file.
The search is done only once for each file so I don't think that a solution
to index the file using Index server is right here.
Anyone knows how to do it?
A simple code example will be appreciated.

Here's a short tutorial on how to the OLE-DB extension to access
Windows Indexing Service. Impress your office-mates with a powerful
full-text search feature on your intranet. It's easier than you think.
First, download and install the extension
(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=171247&package_id=198554).
Simply unzip the file and copy the correct version of php_oledb.dll
into the PHP extensions folder. Then add the...

Hello, I am looking for a way to do a string search inside an xml.
Basically, I work for a company that wants to export an XML file from
and excel sheet and then have that data be presented on the web. Part
of the presentation is that they want to be able to "search" for their
favorite dealers. So, this will be a string search.
The difficulty is, we dont have .NET, we dont have a SQL server -- all
I can use is ASP classic.
So, I can...

I am trying to locate all lines in a suite of files with quoted strings of
particular lengths. A search pattern like r'".{15}"' finds 15-character
strings very nicely. But I have some very long ones, and a pattern like
r'".{272}"' fails miserably, even though I know I have at least one
272-character string.
In the short term, I can resort to locating the character positions of the
quotes, but this seemed like such an elegant solution I...

I need to search a buffer for a string of characters.
The buffer is essentially a binary file (it's an image) and contains lots of chr(0) characters.
The string I need to locate also contains chr(0) characters. In fact it is the following string:
chr(100) & chr(0) & chr(0) & chr(163)
This is a marker in the image file for items I need to process.
So I though I would do the following:
Dim sFileBuffer as String =...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
