Does anyone know of a way to implement cookieless sessions in ASP.net by tacking on the session ID to the querystring, rather than setting cookieless="true" in the web.config file? I see that some websites (e.g. match.com) are using ASP.NET and are implementing cookieless sessions in this manner, yet everything I read says that the only method of implementing cookieless sessions is by setting cookieless="true" and letting ASP.net "do it's...

According to the docs you tell ASP.NET to use cookieless sessions by setting
a value in the config.web file.
However, what if I wanted to determine at run time whether or not I wanted
to use cookieless sessions for a particular user, and if so, I'd instruct
ASP.NET to turn on cookieless sessions for a particular user session. Is
this possible?
For example I want to use cookie based sessions by default for all users.
But if a user has...

Hi gang,
This one looks like a bug :o(
As you may or may not know, setting session management in web.config to use
cookieless sessions causes the ASP.NET runtime to munge a session ID into
the URL, in the format http://yourapplicationpath/(Session.SessionID)/...
which saves numerous headaches when it comes to storing state across page
requests and sessions.

Hi All
I've already posted this on the forums, but thought I'd try for a wider
audience as well. I've added cookieless security to my ASP.NET 2.0 site. The
URLs are rewritten to include the cookies for the Session and the Forms
authentication token. However, the URLs driven from the Web.sitemap file are
not modified.
Questions:
1. Is this a bug?

Hello,
I want to show a treeview display of the contents of a sitemap file on
another web site, chosen according to the currently logged on user. I
know at run time the path to the sitemap file, but this cannot be
determined at design time as it depends who logs in.
Can I do this? I can't see how without writing my own provider, which
seems like a lot of work for such a simple request?

I have a current website divided into 2 sections. Each section needs it's own
sitemap and treeview. Is it possible to have 2 different sitemaps in a
website?
Everything that I have read says you create a web.sitemap file and stick it
in your root and connect it to the treeview. I don't see anything about
needing 2 web.sitemap files and 2 trees. Thanks for your help.

I want to use a TreeView control as a one-level, vertical navigation
menu. I'm using this control currently with a SiteMapDataSource
and .sitemap file. I've written code that associates an image with
each TreeView node based upon a custom attribute I have included in
the siteMapNode nodes of my .sitemap file. This all works as desired,
including the security trimming which is especially desired behavior.
The nodes of the TreeView...

In Vs2005 VB.net. How do you localize the title and the description of the
pages in the web.sitemap file?
For instance in the simple sitemap below
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" >
<siteMapNode url="Default.aspx" title="Login" description="Login" >

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
