sitemap stuff

I'm not sure if my last post got sent or not so ...

If anyone is remotely interested here is a link to some things I have been
playing around with sitemaps and extended custom providers
this includes a web based frontpage-esque sitemap editor - or at least it is
heading in that direction

note that the sitemap provider also automatically handles transitioning
between secure & unsecure pages - you will need to be able to access port
43443 to see the secure parts

I plan on making this demo session based soon rather than application -
until then I expect that things will barf if multiple users hit this
simultaneously.

http://dev2.gerzio.ca/SiteMap

it looks caca but it seems to be functionally sound.

for those who did take a peek - you seem to be missing the link at the
bottom of the page "Maintain Sitemap" which takes you to the interesting
stuff

I'm currently learning to use Cocoon, and although I really like it, there are a couple of things that don't seem to be explained very well. I've seen lots of articles explaining really complicated stuff with actions and selectors and stuff, but I can't find a simple explanation of how variables in the sitemap actually work. Can anyone direct me to a good article on that? Another problem I'm having is that for some strange reason, my...

I'm using ASP.NET 2.0 and IIS 6 I've got a business with 2 sites requiring separate intranet info. Currently, I have 2 separate intranet sites set up in IIS. This leads to having to double up on shared pages which I'd rather not have. Both sites use a master page and a Menu control bound to a SiteMap. When a user loads the intranet home page, I want the appropriate Master Page to load. As both sites are on different subnets, I can...

Although this question involves Flash, I suspect the actual issue is an asp one.. I am trying to open the web.sitemap file in an .swf file enbedded in an asp page (I'm working in VS 2005). I get an error in Flash when it trys to open this file using standard Flash commands. However when I change the file name and command to 'Web.xml' it works. (it also works if I don't change the name, but run the swf in flash player and not via the...

Here is my situation. I have two sitemaps registered, A and B, where A is used by my default provider. When I do Sitemap.CurrentNode it operates w/ respect to the default provider. However, I want to do some fun programmatic stuff with SiteMap.CurrentNode, with regards to sitemap B on a certain page. How can I specify that when I say SiteMap.CurrentNode I want it to talk to me with respect to my non default sitemap provider?

hi, i have put my web.sitemap in /App_Data so i can edit it programatically via a web admin page, inheriting the modify permissions from the App_Data folder etc. i was hoping the provider would simply persist any changes i made, but it doesn't happen. e.g. selected.ParentNode.ChildNodes.Remove(selected); throws a NotSupportedException "Collection is read-only"

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
