Search control in firefox (pressing enter in general)

Hi,

So with my search control I want people to be able to enter some text and
press enter and have the search submit.

I was doing this with javascript using the onKeyPress event for the
individual textboxes I wanted to monitor then used the argument to pass the
buttonn id I want to click and used more javascript to simulate the click.
This worked great as anytext box I wanted could fire the submit button I
wanted associated with it. But I recently discovered that it wasn't working
in firefox as the it doesn't seem to be able access the event object that
way.

What's the prefered method for this?

I'm hoping to cover all scenarios like a page with a registration form with
lots of validation controls and the search control. I want it to work in
such a way as you can edit the registration fields and press enter there and
get hit with the validation, if not process the registration or go up to the
search control enter a keyword and press enter in that text box to have it
execute the proper search.

Any help here?

Hi, I have an ASP.Net Page with some control on it (buttons, textboxes, calender, etc). When I'm changing the text in the textbox I want to run some code and change the date of the calendar. The problem is that when I press enter, the code for the button event is called. It looks like the button is the default action for pressing enter somewhere on the page. How can I change that? The button is an asp button. Thanks,

Hi, I'm using Access 2003 and I'm trying to create a tab control that, upon pressing a command button, will take you to a second page of that particular tab. For example, I have a tab control with six tabs/pages that will be labeled General Info, Informants, Cert of Trial Comp, Trial Comp Eval, Areas of Trial Comp. These are more like sections for the user to access to enter in data into fields that are placed within them. The problem...

Hello, I've read thru numerous post/archives trying to decipher the cause of my problem to no avail. I'm just basically trying to conduct a search by using a form in order to locate data that may or may not be in one field of an associated table/query. Here's my 3-step process. 1) I click on the name of my Main form (that I've already created along with a subform and query and an click-on command button) and it prompts me with an "Enter...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
