I'd like to get some real world feedback from developers out there who have
to work with the "design" folks to integrate look and feel stuff into a
vs.net web project.
A lot of designers use web page design specific products such as Macromedia
Dreamweaver when building sites. What happens when you as a vs.net developer
have to work with a designer to integrate their look and feel into your
vs.net project?
Most of the designers I know...

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction...I've been picking
through MSDN all day and I'm more confused now what I was when I started
this! Hopefully I have the right terminology.... I'm a VB
programmer....C# is basically greek to me.........
I want to create an ActiveX control. To keep it simple, let's say I want a
windows form that just has a label that says "Hello World". I would like my
web form to load this...

Anyone know where the documentation is regarding Activex controls in asp web forms?
I'm using VS.NET 2002 enterprise and am trying to use Activex controls in vb.net web form app.
I do the add control to pallete and then add a reference. I get the interop dll added to bin folder.
I did this with the MediaPlayer activex control as a simple case to to try and get it working.
I set the control to autostart via the html parameter tag for...

Simple question I hope....
How do I send data to and from an ASP.Net (server side) web page to a
ActiveX Control (client side) embedded in a web browser???
What I need to do, is I have image data (mostly TIFF format) that need to be
sent to our custom Image Viewer (ActiveX control). So far I can get the
TIFF image data loaded into a Byte Array in C# on my ASP.Net web page, But
how do I send this data now to my ActiveX control on the...

Hello All,
I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm
using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005.
This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to
a CSV file).
Some of my concerns are:

I am not that familiar with Crystal Reports, but having read some other
posts I know that the way to integrate the API with Python is through
the COM interface provide by win32all.
However, I have been unable to find any other information on how to get
started. I've used the COM interface before in integrating Excel and a
couple of other things. So I am familiar with how that works. But there
are at least 40 options dealing with Crystal...

I have an ActiveX component that I want to use in a library that I am
writing. As a first test I used the ActiveX component in a windows
form application. Adding the component created:
Ax.dll
.dll
I can not call the functions in the ActiveX component. In the next
step I tried to use the ActiveX component in a class library. I simply
added a reference to the corresponding COM component. This this only

PTC is a company that makes engineering software to design and model parts. They also have a free browser plug-in called ProductView that allows you to see view a 3D image of an "engineering part" in IE 6 and IE 7. I want to be able to view these same things from a Windows application.
Is it possible to embed the same ActiveX control that was made for Internet Explorer into a C# or VB application? If so, could someone point me in the right...

Hello Philippe,
In addition to bruce's points, I'd suggest the KB article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/317392. It demonstrates how to host an
ActiveX control in ASP.NET (for your first question), and points out that
ActiveX control is a pure client-side control, the server-side code cannot
access this control (for your second question). Server-side code can access
only server controls, which are the controls that are listed on the Web...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
