Adding user to role in ASP.Net 2

Hi,

I'm just getting into asp.net 2 c# using the login and registration
controls. I have a role called publisher and want the user adding to
that role when they register and send an email to say they have
registered.

Do I just add the code to create the role in the
CreateUserWizar d_CreatedUser method? Is there a better way?

Thanks.

Thanks.

I have TblRoles and TblRoleTypes. The main reason for RoleTypes is to make it easier to categorize roles for people and organizations. For example, RoleType entries include Client roles, Climb Support Roles, Vendors, Media & Publicity, Info & Training. In TblRoles, RoleTypes is a FK but set as not required. Still, Access won't let me save a new record in TblRoles if an ID# for RoleTypes is not entered. I can fill in the table now by...

I have implemented role-based security within my ASP.Net application. However, it seems the role is not passed to the authentication ticket I create. I want to use it to display/hide some content based on the user's role. I wrote this to do it: if (HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated) { plLoggedIn.Visible = true;

I'm looking for some design guidance on a collection of projects I'm working on. The project involves a bunch of websites constructed out of a collection of user controls. Different user populations with different access rights and "roles" will be visiting the site. I will be using ASP.NET 2.0's membership, roles, and profiles stuff to manage access. User controls need to be visible or not visible depending on user role. In some...

I have a user object that is set when a user logs in. There are also permissions that I get about the user from a web service. Currently I take the results from those web services and store them as XML in the user object so I can parse it when I need to look at them. I wanted to turn the xml permissions into ROle objects, but does that mean that my User class needs to make reference to the Role class? User class example class User{

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
