VWD express ActiveX tool bar icon grayed out

Hello,

I am trying to use Visual Web Developer Express to develop a web
application. I have an ActiveX component that is a major piece of
functionality that I need to use. When I add the ActiveX component to
the tool bar it appears as a grayed out icon. I can not seem to find a
way to make the tool active so I can use it on a web form.

I have the full version of visual studio 2003 and the activex icon
comes up on the tool bar and I can drop it right into a form.
Unfortunately the powers that be want this application developed for
asp.net 2.0. This is why I have downloaded VWD express. My fear is
that ActiveX control functionality is blocked in the “Express” version
of VWD and I am going to have to buy the full blown version of Visual
Studio 2005 to get this to work. Has anyone out there been able to
make ActiveX controls work within VWD Express?

Thanks

I have been working on this for several days and am still have had no success in achieving this. Pleae help. It seems that documentation for this is very limited. I have looked in several books and they all seem to say either nothing about this or that this is "out of the scope of this book", even "Professional ASP.NET". Hi all, Controls such as the tree view or list view use image lists hence I can set the quality of icons to 32bit. This way they look their best. Unfortunately both the menu and tool bar strip control don't use image lists. How can I still achieve 32bit icon quality (icons are natively 32bit) in these controls? I don't see any such property in either of them.

I am migrating from VB6/Access to Visual Basic and SQL Express. I have success writing test code on my local machine and am now setting up tests for deployment to a server. I have installed SQL Express on a Windows 2003 Server. I can connect and create databases on the Remote Server from my local machine using SQL Management Express, so I know Remote Access is working. However, I am unable to connect using a connection string within...

Sorry for the newbie question but I'm trying to learn Visual Studio. I've got VS Express 2008 and I'm using visual basic. I'm trying to learn how to deploy a program so I've written a very basic windows application (lets call it TWinApp1) with just a couple of buttons and a text box. It is very simple and runs fine in the debugger. Using TWinApp1 I'm trying to learn how to create a setup program to install an application on a system....

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
