Resources File And Code Behind

Hello,

I'm trying to use Resources file to manipulate language in my application
Web. I'm using vb.net and framewok 1.1.
I have read some articles about the subject. But i don't understand
everything !

For the moment, i have created différents .aspx page and associated file
..vb.
"My application is not compiled yet into .dll."

So, is it possible to prepare and create resources file and bind it to the
code behind file (.vb). I would like to store in this file "the text" of my
differents web controls in French And English languages.
To be able to get the right text according to the Culture and to fix this
text when the page aspx is loaded by the server.
I'm looking for easy examples to do that to introduce ressources files in my
web application being develop. That is to say, in a first time, work with
..vb file and to habe the possibility to compile all the file later.
Thanks for your help.

Check out:
http://www.openmymind.net/index.aspx?documentId=3

It has a very basic VB.Net example of how to do resource stuff:

If you are interested however, the 3 part article describes a different (and
in my opinion better) way to do multilingual websites :)

OK, for a number of reasons I have needed to begin experimenting with resources sooner than I had planned (I had avoided it for now). Step 1: I built the 'reseditor' application that is in the SDK sub-directory, as instructed by the MSDN. Step 2: I used the 'reseditor' to create a file named "MyResources.resources" that contains only some...

What is the difference between a managed/unmanaged resource, and how do you tell which is which? Hi, I need an aspx's code behind program access to a network folder which is only available for specific active directory user. How can I have that specific aspx code login into the active directory with specific UID/PWD? The rest of ASPX pages in the application don't need to have any access to file resources. Thank you,

I've upgraded a .Net 1.1 web app to 2.0 and am having a heck of a time getting resources to work again. From what I understand if I move my strings.resx file into the App_GlobalResources folder I should magically be able to reference my strings using the syntax Resources.strings.string1. This isn't working for me. Is there something I'm...
