I'm trying to pass a custom object back and forth between forms.
This custom object is pulled into the app using an external reference
to an assembly DLL that was given to me by a co-worker. A query-string
flag is used to indicate to the page whether it should instantiate
a new instance of the object or access an existing instance from
the calling page.
On the both pages I have a property of the page which is an

For some odd reason, despite the fact that I assign my own custom IPrincipal
to the HttpContext.User property in an HttpApplication.AuthenticateRequest
event handler inside of an IHttpModule, when I check the Page.User property,
it's a WindowsPrincipal and not _my_ custom Iprincipal. Why would this be?

What gaurantees are there in the way of which thread the events are called from.
I've seen:
Thread A Begin
Thread B Begin
Thread A End
Thread A End
That seems to indicate that Begin and End can't be assumed to be called from the same thread, but can I assume that the Begin will happen on the same thread that executes the request?

All,
I am trying to write a multi-threaded HTTP module that handles the
OnBeginRequest and logs it. What I am trying to do is to offload the
logging to another thread which will allow the http module to release
the OnBeginRequest.
The issue that I have is that I keep on getting "Request is not
available in this context" exceptions.

I've got a custom HttpHandler to process all requests for a given
extension. It gets invoked OK, but if I try to do a Server.Transfer I
get an HttpException. A Response.Redirect works, but I really need to
avoid the extra round-trip to the client.
I've tried Passing the page name, the full URL, and the instance of
the handler class to the Transfer method, but everything gets me the
same error 500.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Im using vis studio 2003 and I think wse is out of the question as clients
could be using java which doesnt support it. So I managed to find some code
which allows you to develop a custom soap header called by using a http
module. The problem Im having is I cannot seem to get the event to raise to
fire off my authenticate method in the global.asax. The module is plumbed in
to my web.config file

When is the IHttpModule Dispose driven ?....at application recycle time ?
I developed a test HttpModule to trace INIT, BeginRequest, EndRequest and
Dispose....and the Dispose never gets driven. After a while the INIT is
redriven however the Dispose was never driven.
I am trying to locate the best means to hook ASP.NET application recycling

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
