Asp.Net Project not configured to be debugged (in VS.Net) - how to solve

I made a number of system changes, due to problems, upgreaded to XP SP2,
uninstalled and reinstalled IIS and asp.net.

Now, when i build my project, i get VS.Net error: "Unable to start debugging
on the web server. The project is not configured to be debugged". (Before
all the upgrades there was never a problem)

The web.config file looks fine, as it has:
<compilation defaultLaguage= "vb" debug="true" />

The other thing the help file for this error says is: "assure ... that the
debug verb is associated with .aspx." How do you do that? The help file
does not say.

Project configuration properties in VS under debug are as follows:
Configuration -> (Active)Debug, Platform -> (Active).NET. Under Debuggers,
Enable, "ASP.Net debugging" is checked.

What else can I look at?

Thanks much. Tough to program without debugging!

Tom

Hi, I'm in the middle of a project cycle using VS.Net 2002. I'd like to purchase VS.Net 2003 and make the jump to it but first I want to know how much of a hassle it is loading my VS.Net 2002 project in 2003. The project isn't under source control so that should make it easier. But if I need to make a lot of modifications to the code so it'll run on 2003 I might just wait a few months till the next project. Thanks for sharing any...

I've got a handfull of .NET 1.1 solutions each with multiple ASP.NET web projects and dependencies on one another. I'm trying to automate the build process here at work and I've initially decided on using MSBuild as my build engine. Using MSBee, this process seems to work pretty well for non ASP.NET applications. However, the Web project present quite a challange. The first problem is

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
