How does .Net Web service handle request from multiple clients

Hi,
I am trying to understand how does .Net Web Service handle requests for
multiple clients simultaneously.

Here is what I am trying to achieve.
I have created a web serive that search database based on client
request. Client submits query string.

Issue:
If I try to access web service from 2 clients simultaneously using
different query, it gives same results.

Example: (If initiated at same time)
Client - 1
Search term - IL
Result from Web service: full name is Illinois

Client - 2
Search term - WI
Result from Web service: full name is Illinois ( I am expecting "full
name is Wisconsin")

How does .Net Web Service handle multiple clients?
Is there good documentation/Examples/code samples that will help me?

Thanks

If I invoke a web service, and it throws an exception, I can see the exception if the client app is a .Net app. However, if the client app is not a .Net app, I only receive the HTTP 500 error. I believe this is due mostly to the fact that the non-.Net apps are using POST instead of SOAP. If the non-.Net apps were using SOAP, they too would in fact "see" the exception. Is this true? Thanks!

Is there a way to have a windows service instantiate a class that is a web service, which will then be accessible to clients via HTTP? Thanks, -Mike

I build a system where a Windows service iterates through a file and sends each line in the file as a record to a database, by calling a web service asynchronously. It runs on a w2k server. What I notice is: When the web service gets called, there seems to be a slowness and potential for missed calls - my guess is because it's being moved into memory. This causes problems as records are dropped. My solution is to redo the load...

I am trying to develop a web service to accept a file uploaded via http post from a vba (Access) application. Thanks to helpful links in a vb newsgroup and my previous work with WinInet api I was able to write the code to do the upload. I know this works because I tested by posting to an asp page that saves the file. Now I need to create a .NET web service to accept and save the file. Of all the web service samples I found, the only ones...

i need to build a service that will accept incoming TCP/IP connections. the service should act like a "HUB" where on one side clients connect to it and stay connected for as long as they like and on the other side the service reads messages for these clients from MSMQ and sends them to already connected clients. the clients can also send information back to the "HUB" which will be parsed and sent to MSMQ. when the clients connect to this...

I'm looking for some advice on how to proceed. Here's the scenario: I've got to develop a high availability VB.Net web service that basically acts as a middle man between the web service clients and a third party data provider. The third party data provider is accessed over a well defined TCP interface. The third party data server can accept about 25 concurrent TCP connections from the same client.

We are attempting to make a request to a web service (we will refer to it as XXXServices) hosted on a Web Logic server from a C# SOAP client. The server responds with a 401 Unauthorized error (that appears in plain text), and causes the client to crash. This C# code has been deployed both as an ASP.NET application and a WinForms app, each of which produced the same result. Further, moving the clients from a Windows XP machine to Windows...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
