I need to send a large list of emails from a webform by clicking a single
button. Microsoft's documentation for coding this seems straight forward
and I'm about to begin experimenting with their sample code (VB.NET). I
would like to know if it is possible to use HTML to format
the emails as opposed to just text, i.e. use a picture for the header,
specify fonts, bold text, center text etc. all from information stored in a
database.
Any examples or suggestions appreciated!

I normally use the SmtpMail class from the .Net framework. It can handle
HTML mails too. Just check out the MSDN help, it contains some good
examples. But its nothing complicated anyway.

I'm creating HTML emails from a PHP site and sending them out to an email
list (just about 40 people so far are on this list). I've tested and
confirmed that these emails work in yahoo.com's webmail. And I know they
work on *my* Outlook Express. But I have one person (I know of) who gets the
emails as plain text, so she sees the HTML code for the email instead of its

Hello,
I am sending two emails from the same procedure, one to myself (while testing) and another (a comfirmation) to the user on the website.
I was having difficulty finding a relay server to SMTP though, but was able to do this though one of my personal account, Cabbage.Org. It doesn't make any sense to me why this works and no other account, including localhost and the remote server which hosts the website.
