I'm trying to write a log file that captures the referring url if the request is a new session, and captures a querystring value if the user is browsing between pages on the website. Hi, I try to get the 'Context.User.Identity.Name' from inside the global.asax in the 'Application_BeginRequest' event. I get this error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. You can simple test this with: Response.Write(Context.User.Identity.Name);

Hi, surely simple enough, but I got stuck on this one: I want to use the Global.asax file to log every call to a webservice method. For this, I'm using the Application_BeginRequest method. The problem now is: how can I get the name of the method the client requested? All properties of the Context.Request object seem to have just the filename (.asmx) of the webservice... Thanks for any hints on this!

Because I want to use some ajax-requests and other javascript-functions on my xhtml, I need to dynamically add event handlers to any possible dom-elements. All solutions I found so fare are for specific, pre-known

Hi guys I've used an Application_BeginRequest function in my global.asax page to implement some URL rewriting functionality on our website. However, upon moving it to my host (1&1.co.uk), it no longer works. They don't support Application_BeginRequest? They've given me a list of the low-level functions they do support, which can be viewed at http://s221042302.websitehome.co.uk/check.aspx

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
