Delete confirmation in GridView

Hi,

Is there a way to make the GridView ask for a confirmation (something
similar to javascript: window.confirm ) before deleting a row?

Thanks

I'm working on an ASP.Net application written in C#. On one page, there are several datagrid controls used to display, edit and delete detail records relating to the master record also displayed on that page. Each row in each datagrid includes a Delete button (added at runtime by the code-behind page as a ButtonColumn) and an Edit button (added at runtime by the code-behind page as an EditCommandColumn). What is the quickest, easiest and...

Is it possible to have a confirmation dialogue appear when the delete command is clicked on a gridview? i.e. asking the "Are you sure you wish to delete this record?" question. I just don't like the idea of someone clicking on delete by mistake and the record getting deleted. I tried using the onclick event, but the command links/buttons/images don't seem to accept that event, i guess for obvious reasons.

I'm reposting this. I'm kinda in a bind untill i get this figured out, so if anyone has some input it would sure help me out. Ok, I’ve noticed a few gridview problems floating around the forum. Everyone wants to do a java confirmation box when a user clicks the delete button. Fair enough, basic user design rules state that you should always confirm a delete action. There is also a consensus that the best way to do this is a template...

I have a DataGrid control with a LinkButton command column that deletes the row. What I want to do is set it up so that there's a client-side Confirm alert BEFORE the actual Delete command gets called on the server-side. That's easy to do with normal buttons, etc. as follows... <asp:Button ID="ConfirmBtn" Text="ConfimMe!" OnClientClick="if(!confirm('Are you sure?'))return false;" OnClick="ConfirmBtnClickHandler" Runat="server" /> But...

I have a gridview and I want to delete a row that is highlighted, but I want to show a confirmation box also 'you sure?', but I only want this to show if a row in the gridview is highlighted. What is the best way to do this other then disabling the delete button until a row is highlighted?

Hi all, One of the limitations of the GridView control is that the built-in delete processing doesn't prompt for confirmation -- something thats very important for a user interface. True, you can add server side logic for this, but its much more reassuring to have a Javascript confirmation window open up and prompt. There are several techniques for doing this, just google 'Gridview delete confirm' to see them. I've figured out one which...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
