Hi all!
I've made a custom group-box control derived from a GroupBox. Additionally
I've made a ControlDesigner derived class associated with my group box to
remove some unneeded properties.
But after utilizing this ControlDesigner, I can't parent any control to my
group box in a design view(When not applying ControlDesigner everything
works fine).
Here's the code:
internal class CGroupBoxDesigner : ControlDesigner

I want to create a standard tool bar that appears on all pages that is
a control. The toolbar has a button 'New'. What I wolud like when the
user clicks on 'New' depends on the page they are on. I would like to
do this by defining a NewFunc() that is different in each
(code-behind) page which is called by the standard 'New' button in the
toolbar.
How can I get this to work? So far I have the following (which doesnt
work). When the user...

I am looking for a easy way to trap an Exception that may occurr in any one
of 30 child web controls to be trapped at the topmost parent WebUser control
or Page Level. I have tried variations of setting the Error event handler
for the topmost parent WebUser control that I want to handle the error to no
avail.
Sample code from the MSDN seems to imply that this can be done but it can
only be taken care of at the same user control level as...

Hello everyone,
I've build a CompositeControl (a photogallery) which has a few
properties (number of rows, number of columns). The control has a
designer which extends the ControlDesigner class. Everything goes well,
but when I change the properties designtime, the control doesn't change
right away. When i switch to source and back to designview the control
does change and uses the new properties.
When I debug the control, I can tell...

code in a webcontrol's Page_Load event wants to grab value of a TextBox in
the parent page;
(TextBox) _textBox = (TextBox) this.Page.FindControl("TB_TextBox1");
string _value = _textBox.Text;
well, FindControl(...) returns null and in VS debugger I see the particular
TextBox is a locked (private) class... Why is that and how can I change it?

I'm working on a usercontrol, and an associated ControlDesigner for it.
In the designer, when I mouse over a particular area of the usercontrol, I
want to change the cursor from the standard SizeAll, to SizeWE.
In the class for my derived ControlDesigner, i have the following code:
protected override void OnSetCursor()
{
try

I created a custom server control that derives from WebControl. I found
Parent and Page property are null for the control I created. But Parent
is a readonly property so that I have no way to assign it a proper value.
By the way, I did no create a constructor for my custom control. I did
not override OnInit() method as well.
Could some one point out what I am doing wrong.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
