rendering issues recently

Hello all. I am working with .net on various boxes from 2000 pro to XP
and 2003 server. On all the computers we get page rendering issues
where sections of the page don't show right or txtxboxes /
dropdownlists are not filled (they are) but you have to scroll them off
and back onto the page or if you grab a resize handle for the page it
pops them back into showing.
I've never seen before. Smartnav is off. All boxes are updated. I
don't recall seeing this until just recently.
Thanks for any ideas...

Rendering is a function of the browser - especially in cases where just
scrolling fixes the way something looks. I would focus on looking at your
machines, version of IE, etc.

this is a browser issue, normally caused by malformed html. firefox has
several addins for validating the html.

Could it be an issue of too many nested tables / div layers?

Nov 19 '05 #4
I've validated all the html, no issues there. Does anyone know of any
IE updates recently that may have made any changes that would have
affected this?

Nov 19 '05 #5
I've narrowed it down to happening when I add a validator. If it's not
there the page refreshes correctly, if I drop one on the form it
refreshes all messed up. Thoughts?

Hi all, I have Acrobat reader 6 installed as I usually do. I've recently had to reinstall Windows and associated programmes and have my web apps up and running except for the PDF rendering. The Crystal reports are running and I'm not receiving errors but the final rendering as though it should automatically load the Adobe PDF web viewer is not working. I have recently installed VS 2005 Beta2 to check out but surely this won't affect my...

I have no idea why, but since I'm trying to recreate my website using ASP.NET 2.0 I've encountered so many performance issues that I'm about to give up and continue using v1.1 Seriously, how can a page that is not that complicated be so long to render locally, it's amazing. This is the trace info: aspx.page Begin PreInit

Hi, all! Using Win2k3 Server & IE 6 (all patches) on one box (web server), and XP/Pro & IE7 on another (workstation)... Project is a basic on-screen calendar with dynamically created table rows and columns (server side) and styles. Odd problem: if I render the table normally, some styles are ignored (such as the border-bottom attribute below): font-size:10px; color:Black;

Hi. I wonder if it's possible to "force" a browser to "switch to SSR mode" for any given document. Specifically, I'm looking for a solution, not to a User Agent issue (i think), but a coding idea; a programming "what if..?". i'm not concerned w/ manipulating a browser (i.e. prefs., settings this URL, always view SSR, save), but rather something i would code into the document which would request the browser to display in this mode (i.e....

Can anyone clue me on on how to have my html page continue rendering past a MySQL error? If you visit www.Base2WebDesign.com, click login, type in anything for a username and password, then view the page source. You will see that the page displays the error then just stops rendering the html. (I know what the error is, I deleted that table on purpose for a simple way to show you what I would like fixed.) This doesn't cause any problems...

HI There, We have an in-house vb.net/C# application which basically serves as a database front end. The application was initially desgned primarily for in-house use only, however recently the apllication is being by a few users working from home, and they have come accross a few issues which did not occur when they used the application in the office. The main issue is that the batch report generator function of the application generates...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
