link button

Hi all,

How would I go about creating a link button inside my datagrid that calls a
sub on the same page when clicked....this button will have an image instead
of textual link ie: I don't want a regular <asp:button> tag to do this.
Cheers and thanks, Lerp

use the asp:ButtonColum n with the Text="<img...>"
They give it a CommandName
Initialize the grids ItemCommand and you should be good to go.

like this....

<asp:DataGrid.. ......ItemComma nd="myItemComma nd" >
<....>
<asp:ButtonColu mn..... CommandName="my Command"..../>

Then in the codebehind
Private void InitializeCompo nent()
{
this.myGrid.Ite mCommand += new
System.Web.UI.W ebControls.Data GridCommandEven tHandler(this.m yItemCommand);
}
private void myItemCommand(o bject source,
System.Web.UI.W ebControls.Data GridCommandEven tArgs e)
{
if(e.CommandNam e == "myCommand" )
{
....do your sub here
}
}

Hi, I have a nice little script that works well displaying images on my website. It's a script where if you clik a thumbnail image a pop up window opens that contains a larger version of the same image. What I would like to create is a link that can be clicked on to close the window that contains the larger image. This would make it easier for the users to close the window. I have posted the script that I use. Any help would be much...

I've read quite a few different message on various boards and for some reason I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around this viewstate maintenance and trying to get these dynamically created link buttons to stay wired up to their click events. I have what is basically a simply survey question generation page. The page first displays a few static fields and a dropdownlist of various options for the user to select. When the user...

Hello, I need to able to write JS that will click on a link with the middle mouse button - so that the link target will open in a new window or tab - using firefox. Or is there a better (more reliable) way to have the link open in a new window/tab (using JS)? I have no control over the JS already on the page - this is for a selenium user extension that I'd like to write.

How close can you get to making a submit button look like a link? Answers to the inevitable questions: 1. Because I don't want my email address (which would have to be part of the URL in a real link) becoming obviously visible. 2. Because I'm limited for space and even a styled button takes too much room. --

I have a page that has three gridviews on it. In each gridview the first column is a link button representing a Database ID field. What I'm trying to accomplish is to email that page and click on the link button to open the page. The problem. When I send the page to myself on the same PC that I am creating the site on and open the email the gridviews are there. When I click on the link button I get an unspecified error. When I place...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
