the render blocks are converted to code at the compile pass. the generated
code (except callbacks) is run during FrameworkInitia lize, which is called
before any event processing. This is also when all the parsed (those defined
in the aspx page source) asp controls are created.

Many (if not most) have said that code-behind is best if working in teams - which does seem logical. How do you deal with the flow of the work? I have someone who is good at designing, but know nothing about ASP. He can build the design of the pages in HTML with tables, labels, textboxes etc. But then I would need to change them to ASP.net objects and write the code to make the page work (normally I do this as I go - can't do this...

Hello All, I'd like your comments on the code below. The sub does exactly what I want it to do but I don't feel that it is solid as all. It seems like I'm using some VB6 code, .Net2003 code, and .Net2005 code. I'm developing in vb.net 2005. This test sub just reads an input text file, writing out records to another text file, eliminating records that have a '99' in them (it is similar to a CSV file). Some of my concerns are:

Here is my situation: I have an aspx file stored in a resource file. All of the C# code is written inline via <script runat="server"tags. Let's call this page B. I also have page A that contains some javascript code that calls window.open. I pass the resource url of page B to Page A's window.open call. Page B is then loaded and executed but none of the server-side code is rendered. If I view the source of the page, the code (and page...

Hi, I wanted a web page where I could post code to, and have it appear in coloured formatting based on the context of the code. Most of the techniques I have seen for this involve complex use of string manipulation where they seek through the string back and forth doing replacements to substitute in the needed HTML code. I am convinced that this can be done with a few regular expressions. Unfortunately my knowledge of regular...

I've built an application that scrapes JPG images of webpages and PDF instances of those webpages automatically from an RSS feed. References to the scraped resources are persisted to our database. I've also built an administrative interface that allows someone to scroll through a datalist of the JPG images of the page and to delete the unwanted items. The JPG previews of the webpage are rendered in several sizes: iconic, mid-sized 600px...

In .NET 2.0, is there any way to include comments in the aspx file that do not get rendered to the client (ie no <!-- -->) ? When I try to include C# comments in a code block in an aspx page, like this: <% // ******************************************************* // CHANGE HISTORY: // DATE USER CHANGE

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
