I am having trouble accessing a web page programmatically from .NET. Our
proxy server is determined by a PAC script and all the standard .NET (and
WinHttp) proxy techniques don't work for scripts.
My current state is that I use the WinInet function
'InternetQueryOptionList' to get the proxy settings. This is working fine, I
am able to detect that my IE settings use a PAC script.
Next, I try using the WinHttp function...

HI I am having problems with C# with regards to its
compatibility with win32 API methods, I am trying to read
from a windows CE comm port using C# and imported methods
from coredll.dll, it seems that I can set the comm state
however when I try and read from the port using ReadFile
method I cannot, I've tried to change the DCB object flag
types but this does not make a difference as I still
cannot read from the port. I have pasted my code...

I have a Custom DTS Task for SQL Server and I've got it working fine, except
for when I try to access its properties from an ActiveX script. I have
added a new property called Length and a method called Generate that returns
a string. Whenever I get the object in the ActiveX script, the only
properties and methods I can use are for the CustomTask interface, not the
extended properties I've added. Does anyone know why these properties...

Hi,
I am interested whether there is a significant differense if I put on
top of my class using CustomNameSpace or If I call methods in my code
by CustomNameSpace.MyMethod()
I am interested because I have to use only one method from some
namespace and I do not want to make my program heavy.
Thanks

Hello,
Is it required to use
Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices
to run C++ API code? I ask because I thought I read
somewhere that this was required. If it is not required
would it interfere if I added it? I experimented with a
simple API

Hi all,
Being new to C# and .net I often don't know how to use things.
I have created an app that imports excel data, it works well, with methods
to open excel, extract the data and close excel.
Now a colege of mine suggested useinf the usingstatement, so that the office
object is dispossed/destroyued correctly, saying that it prevents
memoryleaks. Problem is I am having problems trying to achieve this, I keep
getting the error:

Hi all -
I'm working on an app, and as a feature, I'd like to include thumbnail
images of web pages.
As directed on several web pages, I've added the following interface:
Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices
<Guid("3050f669-98b5-11cf-bb82-00aa00bdce0b"),
InterfaceType(ComInterfaceType.InterfaceIsIUnknown), ComVisible(True),

I have some .NET 1.1 code that utilizes this technique for encrypting
and decrypting a file.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307010
In .NET 2.0 this approach is not fully supported (a .NET 2.0 build
with these methods, will appear to encrypt and decrypt, but the
resulting decrypted file will be corrupted. I tried encrypting a .bmp
file and then decrypting, the resulting decrypted file under .NET 2.0
is garbage, the .NET 1.1 build works...

the sheet. Im noticing that the Excel process is still running after I have
closed and disposed of my excel objects.
The following code (Test1) demonstrates the essence of what I am doing.
When I check the processes while ruinning the method, I notice that the Excel
process remains after exiting the sub (and until I exit the application)

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
