Hi guys
I'm trying to get ASP.NET to do something when someone starts typing in my
textbox, but it doesn't want to fire the codebehind!
I've got AutoPostBack set to to True on my textbox, and the following wireup
in my code-behind...
this.txtMyTextB ox.TextChanged += new System.EventHan dler(this.TextC hange);
TextChange function looks something like...
private void TextChange
{
Response.Write( "test!");
}
But when I type in the text box nothing happens! What have I missed?!
Cheers

Try set your AutoPostBack to true.
You do realise however, this will cause the page to post back and reload.
Not a very nice user experience.
Unless you loading some other data on the page, i would suggest you use
javascript for this

My AutoPostBack is set to True, it still doesn't work.
This is an intranet application, so I wanted to see what the speed was like
- might be okay, might not :)
Any other suggestions?

Hi all,
I have a combobox control, in wich I put an autocomplete code. This code is
in the TextChanged event, but when this event fires, the Text property isn't
updated yet.
For example, if the Text property is "Foo" and I press the letter "d", the
Text property when the TextChanged event runs is "Foo". Only after the
TextChanged event be processed, the KeyDown, KeyUp and KeyPress events fires
and update the Text property.

What I want to be able to do:
A textbox is available that the user can enter information into.
Specifically (for the purposes of this post), the user is asked to
enter a number, and that number has an upper limit. I want to do
validation on what the user enters as they type it in.
I set up an event handler for KeyPress that restricts them from being
able to enter non-numeric characters (only allowing numbers, decimal
point, control...

Hi
I've got a TextBox on my WebForm with it's AutoPostback
set to true, and an event handler created for the
TextChanged event.
I would expect this event to be fired when the user types
any character into the textbox. However, the event is
only firing when the users enters text and THEN moves to
another control on the page.

Hello,
I want to be able to reload a DropDownList when a TextBox changes its value.
So I set the AutopostBack property of the TextBox to true and in the code
behind I do something like:
if(IsPostBack)
{
if( ((TextBox)sender).ID == "myTextBox" )
myDropDownList.DataBind();

Hello All,
I have an ASP.NET page with one Textbox (SearchTextBox) and one ImageButton
(SearchButton) server controls. The user can type search text in
SearchTextBox and click SearchButton and the web server performs a database
query and displays the results. All of this works fine.
I want the user to be able to press the Enter key while the cursor is still
in SearchTextBox and have the SearchButton.Click event fire (thus performing...

Hi,
In my C# Windows form MyForm I have some TextBoxes.
In these TextBoxes, we have to detect if the TextChanged event occurs,
if there're changes in these TextBoxes, it will ask if we want to save the
changes when we close the form.
However, when I run the MyForm, it will fetch data from the system and put
into TextBoxes,
and this incurs the textchanged event.
But I am thinking how do I make the TextBox's TextChanged know the

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
