Access to create file on remote server denied

Hi,

We have following setup here Web Server (Win2000) and FTP Server (Win 2000)
We have ASP.NET application which runs on Web Server and writes file(s) onto
FTP Server. We created asp.net network account and made sure that ASP.NET
application runs under this account. Also, we gave full rights (with asp.net
network account ) to FTP Server directory. When I try to create file on FTP
Server from ASP.NET application, I get following message: "The referenced
account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to."

Any suggestions,

Thanks,
Victor

It seems like you cannot log on with this account on the FTP machine. Try
looking at the account properties on the FTP machine, and verify the "account
is disabled" checkbox.

Context: Running Windows 2003 Server on an intranet. A web is configured with an anonymous access account that is a domain account that has been granted the desired access to a file on another server in the domain. An asp page in the web attempts to open (or any other access) the remote file and fails. Auditing is enabled on the remote system and for the file in question but no access denied records are being recorded.

Hi, I would like to import the tables from MySQL database into Access database and I am not sure how to go about it. I tired to "Import External Data" from Access, selected "ODBC database" from file type dropdown, selected "New data source" and picked SQL Server from the list. I specified the server name (mydomain.com) along with user id and password. But when I clicked on "Next", I got: "connection failed: SQL Server Error:10060,...

The old message looked a little stale, so I am re-posting it here. Anybody have any ideas of what I could do?!? The previous responses to this question are below. If you want to look at the original question, the subject line is: ADODB.NET and "Access Denied" I have an ASP.NET page writtein in VB that uses ADODB. I just had to

I have a test server runinng 2003/IIS 6 with a mixture of asp and asp.net files. On my workstation I have a share set up to the folder where the web files reside. I am just doing quick and dirty asp editing (like I used to be able to do with 2K/IIS5) where I use VS.NET, open an asp file, make changes, save and refresh my browser. Problem is that I get an Access is Denied error when I try to save the file and then the file gets wiped on...

Hi, Is there any way we can access a file using the physical path on a remote server? I need to read and delete content of a remote directory on the LAN. All I got so far is access denied so I wonder if it's possible. Here's the situation: On a web server using IIS and ASP.NET, my ASP page tries to read a distant file using a path like \\172.31.3.3\reports\file.html. Once it's read, I have

Hi, I have what seems to be a common problem, but the solutions I've found don't seem to work. I would like to use a web service to create a file at a UNC location in a shared file. Currently I'm just running it locally and saving the file locally using my machines UNC path. I have given user ASPNET full control over the folder I want to write the file to. I've also tried using the web config identity impersonation to use my user...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
