Doubt regarding Java to Dot NET conversion

Hi,
I am Rameel. I am using a software called GZIP in some of my Java
programs. But now my client want to convert the software to .NET. So is
it possible for me to use the same GZIP
package in .NET also?
If no could you please suggest me a software which can be used to unzip
the file zipped in GZIP.
It is for a very urgent requirement.
So it will be nice of you if you can send me a reply asap.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, Am not very good with pointers in C,but I have a small doubt about the way these pointers work.. We all know that in an array say x,x is gonna point to the first element in that array(i.e)it will have the address of the first element.In the the program below am not able to increment the value stored in x,which is the address of the first element.Why am I not able to do that?Afterall 1 is also a hexadecimal number then...

I am trying to use the Java Language Conversion Assistant 2.0 with Visual Studio .NET 2003 on Windows 2000 Server SP4 and .NET framework 1.1 to convert some java files to C#. I go through all the steps in the wizard to setup the conversion and start the conversion. Soon after the conversion starts, I see a Java Language Conversion Assistant Wizard Error saying "Conversion failed: Cannot initiate conversion process". I cannot find any...

We have a library written in Java that we need to port to .NET (and we need to maintain both versions of the library). I've done some preliminary research on approaches to this but none of them are satisfactory. Here's what I've found so far: - byte code conversion: converts Java classes to .NET assemblies. Looked at ikvm which is open source, doesn't look mature enough. Also requires runtime support which is a negative for us due to...

I have to convert a Java app to .NET, i found and used the conversion tool which converts java to C#, but it only converted about 10% of it, how hard would it be to re-write the java app and keep most of the same logic and could I use alot of the same code? I noticed in the conversion that alot of the java code remained the same, so how close is Java to C#? is there another tool to do this conversion much cleaner and easier to fix when...

HI, One more small doubt from today's mail. I have certain function which returns a pointer (sometimes a const pointer from a const member function). And certain member function needs reference (or better a const reference). for eg, const PointRange* points = cc.points(ptAligned);

Consider the following code snippet ------------------ float fi=12.598; printf("\n %.2f \n",fi); ------------------ the output of this would be 12.60 (note when we give the conversion specifier as "%.2f" the result is rounded to 12.60) My requirement is the value be 12.59 instead of 12.60.Are there any

Apparently the Java Conversion tool that used to be in Visual Studio 2005 is no longer supported in Visual Studio 2008. Anyone have any suggestions on how to convert a Java program to C# in Visual Studio 2008?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
