Disable Visual studios offline cache?

Is there a way to do this? It is causing me a world of hurt.

I like to use a combination if VS and FP

I have a Server that is using intergrated VSS. After working on it all
day I finally got it so Frontpage was doing Check ins and out. Now
visual studio wants to copy the whole ******* project to some local
cache VSWEBCache, for absoultly no reason. However Frontpage still
checks them out to the right place so now if I edit a file in front
page VS doesn't know about it because it has it's own copy. Is there
maybe a button for it to pull everything into it's cache. Or better yet
turn off this offline cacheing altogether?

Hi everyone, I am working on converting a VB6 project to .NET, and I am astounded at how amazingly slow Visual Studio is when loading a solution. For example, I have a solution with 11 class library projects, and it takes 40 seconds to load on a 1.8 GHz machine. Does anyone know what is going on? Is there any way to turn off the compiler when loading? Thanks, Bob L.

Hi, Does anyone know how to get an offline reference to an assembly that has been downloaded using Assembly.LoadFrom. E.g. Application downloads the assembly while it in online... next time it is run it is offline and needs to still use that same assembly. Assembly.LoadFrom throws an exception. Cheers, Greg

If I have a windows form (System.Windows.Forms.Form) open and I push the pin on the toolbox to keep the docked window open, Visual Studios 2003 pegs the processor and basically hangs my computer. I have to kill the program, reboot the PC. Anyone else run into this or something similar? I'm running Version 7.1.3088 of the development environment and 1.1.4322 SP1 of the framework. This hang-up seems to happen regardless of the form that is...

This is the oddest problem! When I do a copy (<ctl> C) and paste (<ctl> P) in my C# code I sometimes find that Visual Studios has deleted the first few letters of several consecutive lines elsewhere in the code! Code dosent compile and I have to figure out what Visual Studios deleted. Further, when I do a paste (<ctl> P) the focus (where the cursors located) is moved to another location. In other words, when I paste I expect the focus...

Hello The high school I teach at has recently upgraded to Visual Studios 2005. I am trying to run a simple "hello world" project in C++. I have properly followed all of the steps to setting up a project, adding the source file, etc. However, when I try to compile, the compiler says that "iostream.h" cannot be located. If I recall, the 2003 version was supposed to have all of the standard libraries stored in a folder called "includes"....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
